6/1/2012 - Please join us for our Painting with a Purpose FUNdraiser event to benefit The American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance national team. I was inspired to join this team because of my dad who passed away from esophageal, lung, and prostate cancer two years ago this May. The DetermiNation team is a group of athletes who dedicate their training and participation in marathons and other endurance events to a lifesaving effort to fight cancer. I will be participating in the Rock & Roll Seattle Half Marathon on June 23, 2012. My goal is to raise $2,400 to help the American Cancer Society save more lifes and help people celebrate more birthdays. Leslie is trying to raise her bail to stay out of jail and needs your help. She is going to jail for a good cause. All bail money raised goes to the MDA. This would not be possible without the continued support from our members, community and employees. Donations currently raised by Arkansas Federal Credit Union are helping fund the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic Waiting Room, which will be located in the new Arkansas Children’s Hospital South Wing, set to open this year. Half of the evening's proceeds will go to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. It is this country's 10th leading cause of death, and is often characterized as a response to a single event or set of circumstances. Treat ‘Em Right Rescue (http://www.treatemright.org) is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of the American Pit Bull Terrier and other “bully” breeds. The dogs are rescued from high-kill shelters, police raids, or confiscations resulting from animal cruelty cases and are often victims of indescribable abuse and neglect. The dogs are provided medical attention and love they need in order to heal physically and emotionally. Treat 'Em RIght's mission is to find each dog a loving home, promote responsible ownership, and educate the public about the gentle, affectionate, and loyal nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier. 8/5/2012 - In our commitment to give back to the community, we are honored to host a Painting with a Purpose event in partnership with Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston (MSRH). The proceeds from this event will go directly to MSRH. Come out, have some fun, create a masterpiece and give hope to a Schnauzer looking for a forever home! MSRH is an all-volunteer, non-profit charitable organization sponsored entirely by donations. MSRH is dedicated to the never-ending, sometimes overwhelming, task of saving the lives of abused, abandoned and/or unwanted Miniature Schnauzers who have lost their homes. MSRH's goal is to ensure these fine animals get healthy, never again face life in a dangerous situation and, instead, live in a safe, loving and secure “forever” home! Until that time, the dogs live in a loving, foster home as MSRH does not operate a shelter. NOW FOR THE CLASS STUFF: Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class to check in & pick up your canvas.
