What is Painting with a Twist?
Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio that where an artist guides you in step by step instruction in a fun, relaxed and entertaining atmosphere to complete the featured artwork. We call it "Edutainment"! In our classes, we use acrylic paints on various canvas sizes and surfaces (including wood and screen art) and teach the class step by step through the specific painting of the day. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!
Where is the studio located?
Our studio address is 2860 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst 14228. We are located in the Ellicott Creek Plaza at the corner of Niagara Falls Blvd and Creekside Dr. Ellicott Creek Park Dog Park is directly behind our building. Zebb's Restaurant (closed) is across the street. From Niagara Falls, heading south on Niagara Falls Blvd: drive past E. Robinson Rd, the entrance is just past a veterinarian office on the right. From Tonawanda/Kenmore/Buffalo heading north on Niagara Falls Blvd: Look for Evans Bank on the left; the Plaza is just past the traffic light. You can turn left at the signal, then make a quick right onto Old Niagara Falls Blvd and make a right at the entrance/exit to the back of the Plaza. Or, there are 2 entrances past the traffic light. Turn left into either one. We are in the middle of the Plaza.
How long do the classes last?
Typically, painting sessions are for two hours. (We have some 1.5 and 3-hour paintings as well.) The times are listed on our ONLINE CALENDAR for each session. Classes begin promptly at the start time. We strongly recommend you arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time to get checked in and settled before the artist starts the painting instruction. Late arrivals disrupt the session for other guests and the artist will not be able to stop and catch you up if you miss too much of the instruction, and cannot stay late to help you finish.
Can I stop in anytime and paint?
We hold classes at specific times and those are the only times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our online calendar, select a painting you like and register online. Pre-registration is required for all classes.
Where can I see your schedule of classes? Do you have a catalog to look at?
Our schedule is on our ONLINE CALENDAR. You can view the featured artwork for every class scheduled on our calendar. We have thousands of paintings and the scheduled artwork sometimes changes, therefore, it is impossible to keep a printed catalog of scheduled classes.
Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?
Our studio is all BYO - we only serve paint water! Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and some light snacks to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best! There are breaks throughout the painting instruction to refill your beverage and grab some snacks.
Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is finished, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments. Comfortable clothing is highly recommended (you may be volunteered for a "dance-off" or "cork-drop"!)
Can I bring my child with me to paint?
We have specific classes on our calendar for younger artists!
