With a deep love of all the arts, teaching at Painting with a Twist has been a great creative outlet. I was born and raised in Granbury. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Music Composition at the University of Texas in Arlington and am now happily married to my high school sweetheart, a mother and a business owner of of this very Painting with a Twist studio! I enjoy being well diversified in talents and interests, including but most certainly not limited to: painting, drawing, singing, writing choral and orchestral music, backpacking, playing ukulele and all sorts of other shenanigans.
Once a farmer's daughter from Nebraska, I earned a BS & BA in Art and Commercial Art in Education, now an owner of this amazing studio! I'm thrilled to be working along side my daughter, Reagan, our manager. I'm blessed to have such a great staff and delighted to work with community and all who grace our doors.
I love all things creative! I have a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta. I enjoy painting and crafts, especially with my two kiddos. My oldest son is quite the artist himself. Art is like life, there may be mistakes or you may end up going in a different direction then you planed but with the right attitude it all turns out beautiful!
I have always been into arts and crafts type things but leaned more toward crochet, sewing or building stuff! Aside from some sketching in high school I had never really tried that side of the art coin! I started going to PWAT classes with friends, discovered I kind of had a knack for it and was hooked! I always say this is my FUN job which it really is! I love watching the canvases go from blank white to all the different interpretations of whatever the painting of the day is!
I have been doing "art" and "teaching" as long as I can remember. As a second grader I took lessons in pencil, chalk, charcoal and oils. My grandmothers were instrumental in continuing my love for painting. One loved ceramics while the other painted oils. Summertimes were spent being creative with them. In college, I was an Art/Interior Design major and helped design spaces on our campus along with painting the background murals for an entertainment venue in Fort Worth. Today, I get to teach art in the PWAT setting and I truly LOVE it!
