My favorite toys as a child were my coloring books and box of crayons. I absolutely loved to color and I knew I wanted to create art for the rest of my life. Growing up in the culturally vast atmosphere of New York City has influenced my passion for the visual arts, dance, and culture. I have a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing and an M.A. in Latin American Studies with a focus in the Fine Arts from Ohio University. Throughout my collegiate career, I have immersed myself in various art mediums including acrylic painting, watercolors, illustration, ink, charcoal, and much more. I participated in several art exhibitions and also dabbled in scene design for the Theater department. I created posters for dance concerts, campus events, and was the visual coordinator for many functions including, Nuit Blanche Athens. I have facilitated many art and dance workshops at schools, universities, and outside of the USA. I am strongly committed to encouraging life-long learning through my teachings and sharing my experiences and love for the Fine Arts with everyone.
If I am not doodling on a notepad, I am often dancing to anything with a great beat! Aside from being a gymnast from the age of five, I also expose myself to all kinds of dance forms. I am particularly fond of world dance and love doing West African, Caribbean, and Polynesian Dancing. I was part of the multi-ethnic touring dance and drumming ensemble, Azaguno, since 2010. I’ve recently taken more interests into other forms of fitness including Buti Yoga and Pole Dancing. I absolutely love to work out! Nowadays, you will often find me doing crafts, crocheting while watching Netflix, or sitting for hours playing videogames.
