Ashley was born in D.C., but has lived all over Delaware since she was five years old. Ashley has been drawing, painting, and doing crafts since she was a little kid. She never really wanted to take an art class because she didn’t want to be judged on her own personal use of techniques or style, but it didn’t stop her from continuing to create art as often as possible. Ashley loves that art can take so many different forms and that it can be interpreted in so many ways. Fun fact: Ashley loves dinosaurs and does a lot of cosplay with local groups. She loves that PWAT brings art into the lives of those who maybe don’t feel like they are artist “enough” in their daily lives, or to people who just never really got into the artistic process. It is such an accessible way to challenge ourselves in a fun and stress-free setting. She hopes to bring her joy and love for art into each class and give a little spark of inspiration to those she teaches.
Ayla has always loved to study art. She loves painting, drawing and has recently found love in sculpture. She lives by one quote ... Art is Objective! Fun Fact: Ayla is a YouTube vlogger.
Ayla is so happy to have the chance to join the PWAT team! To have a job where she can paint all day and teach it to happy, willing participants is a dream come true... and the wine is a plus! Ayla hopes she can bring laughter and confidence to every Twister she meets!
Erin studied at the University of Pittsburgh and got her B.A. in Africana Studies and Studio Arts. She was a painting instructor in Buffalo prior to moving to Delaware. Erin loves illustration and does a lot of freelance work, from album covers to character design.
Fun fact: Erin is a trained barista and loves making latte art!
To Erin, being a PWAT Artist means artful fun and hospitality, to both teach and learn. She loves hosting paint parties because she gets to share her passion for art with others, whether they are beginners or highly skilled artists. Erin believes it is all in the name of a fun, memorable experience for all of us! She hopes to bring a relaxed environment and a willingness to explore new techniques that or Twisters can take home with them & try on their own!
Katie is from Dover, Delaware. Growing up, Art was always her favorite class in school. Since her love of art continued through her teenage years, Katie went on to study Fine Arts in college. Painting an drawing continues to be her major passion.
Fun fact, she is also a wedding cake artist! To Katie, being a PWAT artist means inspiring and bringing out the creative side in others through her own love of art. Everyone has their own unique way of expressing themselves through art/painting and she wants to bring out that art in others. Katie strives to create an atmosphere that allows customers to relax, have fun and create together!
Jake believes that everyone is an artist, some people just practice more than others. His art education started, like everyone’s, in his highchair with fistfuls of pureed peas and carrots. He later studied Art and Music Education at Rowan University in his homeland of New Jersey. He has dabbled in a multitude of traditional and unconventional media and hopes to never stop finding new ways to produce art. Jake delights in empowering others' creativity and loves that at PWAT the power to create is just a brush stroke (and maybe a beverage or two) away. He strives to have every twister leave the studio with a creation they are proud of, a fresh dose of confidence, and a chuckle on their lips.
Jenn was born in Pennsylvania, but has lived in Middletown most of her life, so she considers herself a local. Arts and crafts have always been part of her life. She is a UD alum with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and has participated in three shows. Jenn considers herself a history buff and draws her inspiration from her favorite artists, Edward Hopper and Claude Monet. Along with painting, she also favors photography and sewing/needlecraft.
A fun fact, Jenn's favorite things to draw are chickens, ever since her family got them as pets.
She is excited to be part of the PWAT Team, to be able extend the artist' experience to everyone who wants to get in touch with their creative side.
Art has always been Jordan's passion, every medium of expression brings her joy! Fun Facts: Jordan loves astrology and follows the path of Wicca. Magic and energy work are a huge part of her life. She is also starting massage therapy school in September & has two cats.
Jordan loves how PWAT gives people a fun, non-judgemental environment to express themselves with friends and family, regardless of their level of experience. It means so much to her to get involved in such a creative way, and I hope to give everyone who takes a class an experience they will never forget!
Two great forces come together in Linda, Science and Art. As a trained conservation biologist and descendant of award-winning decoy artists, Linda grew up surrounded by talent and creativity. Like many artists from the Delaware Valley, Linda draws inspiration from the natural world (specially birds). She was born in Forked River, New Jersey and moved to Delaware at the age of 21. For Linda, science and art do not have to be mutually exclusive. In fact, being an artist at Painting with a Twist is her way of sharing with people how science and art are interconnected.
Lizzie was born and raised in Smyrna, Delaware. She is a self-taught artist and has been a PWAT/Paint and Sip junkie since 2013 and occasionally paints at home too! She like to crochet, but usually only finishes hats.
Lizzie is excited about being a PWAT Artist because help appreciate and teach the little things. Fun art is all about simple steps and the basic that help make your piece shine. She loves helping others and wants them to leave PWAT super proud of their work and know it is not always hard to try new things.
Max was born and raised in Delaware & has been drawing since he was a young kid. Since then, Max has taken art courses through high school and in his free time. Max has won multiple art contests and participated in art shows. Besides painting and drawing, Max also practices photography, both film and digital, and also enjoys sculpting and ceramics. Max looks forward to sharing the passion and joy of creating art and bringing life to not only the canvas but to everyone around him. He feels that painting and art are all about expression, freedom and creativity, things we are all capable of. He looks forward to helping our Twisters access that and pull it into reality, while doing so with a smile and some laughs.
Steph is a Delaware transplant, originally from Rochester, NY and a previously self-proclaimed non-artist. After a 25 year career in Corporate America, she is now a co-owner, with husband Bill, and a firm believer that anyone can find their inner artist, all it takes is great instructor and stress-free, fun environment! When not in the studio, she loves spending time with family, including son Jake, and friends & the beach is her happy place! Steph loves getting to know our Twisters and bringing PWAT art to the community! There is nothing better than the smiles at the end of a class, when our guests leave with a masterpiece they love!
