Janine M

Janine has been involved in teaching for over 24 years. After studying advertising design, business and fine arts, she decided to do what she'd always wanted to do: teach. Currently she's an art specialist in the Port Huron Area School District, and her experiences range from kindergarten through adult education. In addition, she was an adjunct instructor at Saginaw Valley State University, teaching an art education class. Outside of the classroom, Janine works with many students, doing lessons, helping with art shows and events and doing whatever she can to explore the arts! An alum of SC4, receiving her BFA from Wayne State (drawing major), art education certification from Eastern Michigan and master courses in literature from Michigan State, Janine sees teaching, eliciting efficacy and encouraging others to explore the arts as paramount in her life!

Daylon T

Daylon T

Daylon is a very young man with a knack for a little bit of everything. He loves to cook, draw, write, read, talk, workout, and do yoga in his off time, and has an insatiable thirst for information and adventure. Travel is his favorite thing to do, and he’s grown up in Hawaii and been lucky enough to go to Egypt, Thailand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, Korea, and a few more other places. He started out drawing at the ripe age of four emulating the gods of Greek and Egyptian mythology, and then all the major heroes from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Ever since then, he has honed his craft in private and through schooling by taking advanced art classes by the age of sixteen. As you may tell, he is a nerd at heart and can talk or paint any major superhero, sci-fi, or fantasy related subject. He also is experienced in other styles such as surrealism, realism, impressionism, among others in the usual mediums of pen, pencil, and acrylics. Outside of art, he is a full time high school social studies teacher with his Bachelor’s from Michigan State University in Interdisclipinary Studies in Secondary Social Science Education. Teaching is his true calling, and getting the opportunity to work at Painting with A Twist pushes him that much further into fulfilling his calling. If you take a class with him, you will have fun, and maybe, just maybe, you might learn a thing or two.
