What is Painting with a Twist?

Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes we use acrylic paints on 16x20 canvas and teach the class step by step through the specific painting of the day.  Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

We hold classes at specific times and those are the only times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our calendar, select a painting you like and register online. Pre-registration is required.

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?

Our studio is BYOB (beer and wine only).  Feel free to bring a snack.

What happens if I don't show up to class, or call with less than 24 hours notice to cancel?

Unfortunatley, you will not be issued a refund or store credit.  

Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?

Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments or snacks.

What are the prices for a class? 

Please check the event for pricing. 

When do you post a new monthly schedule? 

The calendar is posted on the 1st of every month.

Will my painting be dry by the end of the night? 

Yes, if there are a few damp places we will have hair dryers which will dry them quickly.

At what time should I arrive for class? 

10-15 minutes.  We do not allow late comers to painter.  Unfortunatley, those who show up late, will not be issued a store credit and will not be able to paint.

What do I wear? 

What ever is comfortable and you don't mind if a little paint gets on it. We will have aprons for you to wear.

What kind of paint do you use?

We use non-toxic, water-soluble acrylic paint which does stain clothing but wipes off of non-porous surfaces. 

Do I need a reservation? 

We do require reservations with payment to secure seats and we require a 24 hour cancellation.  No calls/no shows will not be issued store credit or refunds.   Our studio is for our painters only.  Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes. 

Is there an age limit?

Yes, guests must be 18 years old to attend an EVENING CLASS, open to the public class.

Please note that it is the law that you have to be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.

We recommend that your young ones be 7 years old to paint with us and they may only attend family/kid's classes or special art camps. Private Parties are also another avenue to accommodate younger children. 

Questions about younger artists:

We love our young artists and offer specific classes with them in mind! Classes for guests under 12 are offered several times monthly on Saturdays and Sundays - the Class Description states the recommended age allowed to attend that class!

  • Family Day classes are intended for ages 7 years - Adult, and are alcohol free classes. Age appropriate art will be available during these classes. We welcome artists 7-107 during Family Day, but the art selection is geared towards our youngest audience! All painters must have a paid reservation - No observers. 
  • Kid's Classes are intended for 12 and under.   We do allow parents to stay during Kid's classes, but request all observers stand back from the class and allow our staff to assist everyone painting. 

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food? Yes! This is the twist!

We have a Tavern Wine License, but you may BYO beverage or snacks.

Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage (adult beverages limited to beer/wine) and some light snacks to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best! We do not have any ice on premises, but you are free to bring in a small cooler with ice if you need some! No hard alcohol allowed - no exceptions please.

Cancellation Policy for PUBLIC classes:
PLEASE READ OUR REFUND POLICY: Store credit or refund will be given for cancellations received at least 24 hours in advance. "No shows" with no notification or less than 24 hour notice of cancellation will not be issued store credit or a refund.  Groups of 5 or more must cancel 3 days before the date of the class to receive a refund/store credit. Please leave a voice message if calling after hours. There are no private party refunds, all cancellations will receive store credit only. If you are late to the class you may not be allowed to paint and your payment will be forfeited. Please see Party Info for refund/cancellation policy terms outlined in the Private Event Agreement signed by host. Painting with a Twist reserves the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances. Guests will be notified 24 hours prior to class time and studio credit will be provided.  Some events have specific refund policies. Please check event descriptions.  No exceptions. No refunds for sold out classes.

Bad Weather: 
Class will cancel if a weather emergency is declared or we determine the roads to be too unsafe to travel; otherwise our cancellation policy is as stated above. In the rare case of a class canceling due to poor weather conditions, studio credit will be issued to all registered guests.
