What is Painting with a Twist?
Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting AND for those that don’t know they are interested! One of our talented and entertaining local artists takes you step by step through a specific painting using acrylic paints on the surface of your choice. Most of our guests have no painting experience and have great success!
Where are you located?
You will find us in the center of the DeWitt Town Center at 3179 Erie Blvd East between Five Guys and Empire Buffet. We are just minutes east of the Thompson South exit off of the 690.
What are the prices for a class?
Depending on the class and surface you select, two hour classes range from $37 to $39 and three hour classes are $47 to $49. Kids classes are $25 and select Family and Senior classes are offered for $25.
Can I stop in anytime and paint?
No, we hold public classes at specific times that are indicated on our Events page on our website and those are the only times guests can come in and paint unless you are part of a private party. To join a class, please view our Upcoming Events, select a painting you like and register online.
Do I need a pre-paid seat for a class?
Yes, you need to pre-pay and pre-register for your seat at our Events. Registration at the time of an event is not guaranteed (class may be sold out) and payment on-site will incur an additional $5 fee. Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes except during a Family class.
How soon should I register for a class?
If you see a class you are interested in, it's best to register ASAP to keep it on our Events page and ensure your seat! Some classes sell out quickly, while others get changed if no one has registered for it.
What time should I arrive for a class?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check-in, find your seat, apron and relax with your beverage of choice for sale at our Inspiration Station. Classes start promptly as scheduled. We reserve the right not to seat latecomers (10 or more minutes past class start). It is disruptive to the class process. There will not be refunds/studio credit issued for late guests.
Are the classes just for women?
No, definitely not! Although the majority of our guests are women, some of our most enthusiastic painters are men. We offer Date nights and Couples nights that are a great success for ALL involved. Come try something out of the box!
Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?
You may bring in party foods and light snacks to enjoy while painting or purchase something we have at our Inspiration Station. We will no longer be able to allow you to BYOB but we offer quality beverages for sale at reasonable prices that include a variety of wine, beer, cider, soda and water!
Alcohol Policy: You must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol in our studio and you will be required to provide proof of age. It is against NY state law to leave with an opened, unfinished bottle of wine or beer. Once an alcoholic beverage has been opened it may not be removed from the studio without being re-corked.
Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang!
What should I wear?
We have PWAT aprons for all guests to wear during class to protect your clothing. Please wear whatever is comfortable, but keep in mind that acrylic paint doesn’t come out of fabrics well.
Can my child come with me to paint?
We have specific classes on our calendar for young artists! Family Day classes are intended for ages 7 and up. All Ages classes are intended for ages 10 and up. Teen & Up classes are intended for ages 13 and up. Weekend evening classes geared for adults 18 and older.
Cancellation Policy for Public Classes and Private Party Guests:
*More than 24 hours notice - studio credit certificate will be emailed in the amount of your purchased seat price.
*Less than 24 hours notice - no refund or studio credit will be given.
*Cancellations must be made by the registering party by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the studio at 315-447-2733
*No shows forfeit the reservation fee - no refund or store credit will be given.
*Private Party hosts please refer to your signed agreement for party cancellation.
Bad Weather: Class will cancel if a weather emergency is declared or we determine the roads to be too unsafe to travel on. In the rare case of a class cancelling due to poor weather conditions studio credit will be issued to all registered guests and we will reach out by email or phone to notify you.
