Q: Can I stop in anytime and paint?
A: We hold classes at specific times and those are the only times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our calendar, select a class you would like to join and register online. We accept major credit cards and cash. Sorry, no personal checks. Pre-registration is required for all classes.
Q: Are reservations required?
A: Yes, all guests must reserve in advance with payment. For public classes, we assign seats. Therefore, please make sure you let us know if you're joining someone in the Special Request Box. All guests are required to have a paid seat in our studio except for family days or guardians of minors.
Q: What is Painting with a Twist?
A: Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting. In our classes we use acrylic paints on a 16x20 inch canvas. We teach the class step by step how to complete the featured painting for the session. Most our guests have no painting experience and they have a great time! We are different from our competitors as we have fantastic ART and entertaining ARTISTS to make your experience the best from the rest!
Q: What are the prices for a class?
A: The price for a 2 hour class begins at $35 for a 16 x 20 per person. Other canvas sizes, wood pallet boards, and screen art classes may be different prices. Paint Your Pet sessions are $55 per person.
Q: When do you post a new monthly schedule?
A: The calendar is posted on the 15th of every month.
Q: Will my painting be dry by the end of the session?
A: Yes, if there are a few damp places, we have hair dryers which will dry them quickly.
Q: At what time should I arrive for class?
A: Twenty minutes prior to class start time should be plenty of lead time.
Q: Will you have bottle openers and cups?
A: Yes, we have bottle openers and cups. We do NOT provide ice or eating utensils.
Q: Since it is around dinner, can we bring food?
A: Yes, feel free to bring in a light meal or snack. Remember you will be painting for most of the time, so finger foods are best.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Whatever is comfortable and you don't mind if a little paint gets on it. We will have aprons for you if you need them.
Q: Are infants or observers allowed?
A: We cannot accommodate observers or infants during class sessions. During FAMILY DAY or ALL AGES classes, one parent may accompany his/her child. Due to space limitations, younger siblings who are not participating are not permitted.
Q: Do you do private parties?
A: Yes! We can accommodate up to 36-40 people in our large studio and up to 20 people in our smaller studio.
Q: What size are the canvases?
A: We use a 16 x 20 and 10 x 30 inch canvases, wood pallets/boards, and 16 x 20 screens.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: All classes or parties ending after 6:00 pm Mon-Fri and ending after 6:00 pm Sat-Sun must be 18 or older. We recommend ages 12 and older for morning/early afternoon classes. Please note it is the law that you must be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.
Q: Can children under 12 years old paint?
A: Yes. We offer classes designated as "Family Day" and "All Ages". Please check our calendar for details. We recommend ages 7 and older for our children's classes. No alcohol is permitted during "Family Day" or "All Ages" events. Private Parties are also another avenue to accommodate younger children. Please know that adult supervision is always required and minors must be accompanied during the classes. Exception are the Kids Camps only.
Q: Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?
A: Our studio is all BYO - we only serve paint water! Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and some light snacks to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best!
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
A: Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments.
Q: Can my child come with me to paint? (the below ages are recommend but may be modified)
A: We have specific classes on our calendar for young artists!
Kids Classes and Family Day classes are intended for ages 7 and up.
All Ages classes are intended for ages 10 and up.
Teen & Up classes are intended for ages 13 and up.
Evening classes after 6pm 15 and up with the exception of Saturday which is for adults 18 and older. We check ID.
All reservations require a paid seat. Effective October 1st, 2019, there will be no refunds issued for customer cancellations. If you are late to the class you may not be allowed to paint and your payment will be forfeited. For refund policy for Parties please see Party Info.
Painting with a Twist reserves the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified at least 24 hours prior to class time and refunds will be processed.
Bad Weather: Class will cancel if a weather emergency is declared or we determine the roads to be too unsafe to travel on, otherwise our cancellation policy is as stated above. In the rare case of a class cancelling due to poor weather conditions, studio credit will be issued to all registered guests. Please see our website for updates in a case of questionable weather.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive 15 minutes or more late you may not be allowed to paint and lose the registration fee. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled class time and we will have a blast!
BYOB is limited to beer and wine, no hard alcohol please. You must be at least 21 to consume alcohol in the studio.
All classes or parties after 6pm must be ages 18 or older on Saturdays unless marked a otherwise. We recommend age 7 and older for Family Day or afternoon classes and recommend Kids Parties ages 7-12.
