Painting with a Twist FAQ

What is Painting with a Twist?

Painting With A Twist is the “art” in party studio for anyone interested in painting and/or partying! It's a one-of-a-kind experience where you and your friends have a blast at a 2 to 3 hour event listening to music, sipping wine, and learning how to paint with step-by-step instructions from a talented artist. They'll walk you through your painting step by step, layer by layer while you create your masterpiece and a memorable experience.

No experience is needed - our classes are fun art, not fine art! Our paintings are created with the amateur in mind and most of our guests have no painting experience. Expect to have a ton of fun and surprise yourself at just how well your painting turns out.

Fully staffed bar

The St. Louis, MO - Brentwood Boulevard location offers a fully stocked bar and a bartender on staff to make your favorite beverage. No Alcohol or beverages of any kind can be brought into the studio.

You can bring prepackaged portion controled snacks to any PUBLIC or PRIVATE event. We recommend light finger foods so you can eat and paint at the same time. You will be required to provide your guests with disposable flatware, plates and napkins and dispose of them at the end of your event.

We are located in The Boulevard-St. Louis, across Brentwood Blvd. from the Galleria Shopping Mall. Our direct neighbors are Maggiano’s Little Italy, Crate and Barrel, PF Changs, and Soft Surroundings.

If you are using iMaps the location is not accurate. Please call us if you are having difficulty (314) 727-7928.

There is free parking in a garage attached to our building, or in the south outer lot.

Suggested Attire

We use acrylic paint, so that it will dry quickly and you can take your painting home the same day. Acrylic paint can and usually does stain or damage clothing though. Please dress accordingly.

We do have aprons that cover most of your front side. Accidents do happen though and we don’t want you to damage your clothes, purse, shoes, etc. We are not responsible for any damages.

We use seating charts for all PUBLIC events. If you will be joining other friends for the event and forgot to identify who you would like to sit with, please let us know right away.

Many of our parties SELL OUT and it is next to impossible to change seating without this crucial information. If you have any special requests or needs please let us know, we will do all we can to accommodate. We are unable to guarantee location requests such as "sit in front near instructor".

Age Policy

Unless otherwise noted in your event’s description, our classes are adult only - ages 18 and up. Children under the age of 18 who come to an adult only scheduled classes will not be allowed to paint, and payment will be forfeited.

Cancellation Policy

We do not offer refunds. A store credit will be given for individuals canceling with at least 24 hours’ notice. "No shows" will not be issued store credit. (Please email us at to make sure we are able to note your request).

Time Restrictions

Please understand that we are limited to the time scheduled for your event. Weekend classes are designed to allow us one hour to clean up and reset the room after each class.

If you are unable to finish your painting within the allotted time, or would like to make some changes, we have a “S.O.S.” event on the first Saturday of every month from 10am-12pm. It is a free opportunity to come in and fix or finish, with an artist to assist you, any painting that you have done at our location.

Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?

Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments.

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

We hold classes at specific times and those are the only times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our calendar, select a painting you like and register online. Pre-registration is required for all classes.

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?

We offer a fully stocked bar for your convenience at the Brentwood Blvd location. Some light snacks to enjoy during class is a great idea, but please remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best!

How long do we actually have to paint?

We offer 2-hour paintings and 3-hour paintings. Typically we paint the entire time with the exception of drying time or playing a quick game (if time allows). Be sure to join us during the Happy Half Hour, 30-minutes prior to the class so you can get smocked up and twisted. We do need to adhere to our schedules here On The Blvd and our artists do all they can to keep you on track, but if you were unable to finish your painting please note that we have SOS for your convenience and you can come in and get a bit of extra time.

Can my child come with me to paint?

We have specific classes on our calendar for young artists!

  • Family Day classes are intended for ages 5 and up.
  • All Ages classes are intended for ages 5 and up.
  • Teen & Up classes are intended for ages 13 and up.
  • All evening classes are for adults 18 and older. (unless otherwise stated)

Can my friends come and watch us without painting?

Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes, except during a Family Day class. We are an entertainment venue much like a movie theatre.
