Hi, I’m Kimberley Clark — wife, mom of three grown sons, artist at heart, and proud co-owner (with my husband Anthony) of Painting with a Twist studio in Sandy Springs and Alpharetta, Georgia. We’re also building our third studio in the Kennesaw area, and I couldn’t be more excited to share a little bit of how we got here.
Our story starts in 2020, during the height of the pandemic. I was planning a small birthday celebration and came up with the idea to host a paint night at home. I gathered some supplies, set everything up, and invited a few friends over. It turned out to be such a fun, joy-filled evening, one memory that I held on to.
I’d never been to a PWAT event before, but something about the experience lit a spark. I started doing some research and reached out to the franchise. Before I knew it, we were signing paperwork and becoming the proud owners of the Sandy Springs studio in 2023. Since then, we’ve expanded to Alpharetta in 2024 — and now, we’re building our dream studio from the ground up in Kennesaw scheduled to open July 2025!
Anthony and I have been together for 37 years, and our love for the arts goes way back. I played clarinet, he played trumpet, and we’ve always supported all forms of creative expression for many years. Owning PWAT lets us share that love in a way that brings people together, in a relaxed, fun environment where connections can be made.
Before PWAT, I spent over 25 years working in Human Resources leadership roles. While I valued that career, I knew I was ready for something different — something where I could use all my skills, but in a space filled with creativity, joy, and connection. Anthony is more behind the scenes (he works full time as a Finance Leader in FinTech and handles our studio finances), but he’s a huge support. He’s also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Cobb County Chapter and mentor’s young men through the Henry Arthus Callis foundation. I also volunteer at Solidarity Sandy Springs to help stock their food pantry, and we both stay involved locally in various ways. We’ve lived in Atlanta for 17 years, originally from Chicago, and community has always been at the heart of everything we do.
At the end of the day, Painting with a Twist isn’t just a business for us — it’s a calling. It allows us to serve others, bring joy to our guests, and create meaningful moments through art with painting classes and activities to share the healing power of art with all.
Our offerings will include:
- - Guided Public Classes: instructor led date night, family classes, kids classes, blacklight neon night glow painting class
- - Private Parties (in studio or at your location): adult/kid birthday parties, baby showers, etc.
- - Candle Making: you can make a DIY candle with every class
- - Specialty Workshops: chunky blanket, candle making, paint pour and more
- - Pop in and paint: during the day, no reservations required and 3D wood surfaces and many canvas to choose from to be creative
- - Corporate: team building
