Kelly

Kelly

Hi all! Where to start…. Hmm I’m not one to talk too much about myself… haha kidding! Well, my name is Kelly and I grew up all over the place, moved around a lot but I call New Hampshire my home state. I received a Bachelors of Art in Studio Art and K-12 Art Education from Saint Mary’s College, Note Dame, IN in 2010. I am a full time Elementary Art teacher and love love love what I do! Aside from that I have been with PWAT since 2013 and couldn’t imagine a better place to “work”. My true passion in the art world is in the 3D field focused mostly in pottery, which I am still able to do and sell on the side through my etsy site. Aside from art I love my two little shorkie pups, Moxie and Penny more than anything else in the world! My obsession level is pretty bad! I also love sports, running races, triathlons, and spending time with my family! But that’s enough about me, come explore your inner artist with me at PWAT Carrollwood and get your paint on! And if you want to learn more about me I’m at the studio every Thursday night, just ask!

Jessica

Hey There! I'm Jessica! I’ve been part of the Painting with a Twist Carrollwood/Trinity team since April of 2014 and love everything about it. It's a beautiful thing to get paid for doing something you love. I’m also a skilled bartender and have my own side hustle selling handmade FUNctional Art on Etsy. Art has been a part of my life since I learned to color. I enjoy sketching, acrylic and oil painting, photography and pottery. Some facts about me...I am an alumna of Florida State University. I have traveled to 28 states and hope to visit all 50! I lived in NYC for 5 years and ended up working in the same building that my mother worked at 30 years earlier. I like to spend my time volunteering at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and enjoy attending all local events and festivals. Oh and I make the best Margaritas. I hope you come and visit me for my Wednesday night class at the studio and on the weekends. Cheers!

I have drawn and doodled since a very early age...just ask my teachers! Precious class time was spent honing my skills with pencil and pen instead of doing my equations..( Higher math and I just don't get along!) Each one of us has a different skill set, though, and it was only after I had children of my own that I realized the importance of capturing "life moments" on canvas or paper. So while raising my babies, I focused on kids and animals and began to do custom pastel pet portraits filled with color and personality. My teens continue to amaze me on a daily basis... as does the creative process. I love music and concerts, good food and fine wine...and don't forget the chocolate! As a licensed massage therapist by day and ninja painting instructor by night, I am living the middle aged dream and wouldn't have it any other way! I joined the talented Painting With A Twist Carrollwood/Trinity team in May of 2014 and finally put my passion for art and love of teaching together in a job that seems to be tailor made for me! Love, Love, LOVE this gig and look forward to sharing creativity, paint and wine with many twisters in the future.

Lover of all the fine arts, of culture, and of language, I am a self-proclaimed Renaissance Woman, and Worldly Educator. I was born in California, but was an “Army Brat,” and grew up all over the place. I studied primarily Art History, Spanish, and Dance in College, and have enjoyed teaching in these areas and in many contexts in the years that followed. I am currently working on my graduate degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of South Florida. When I am not teaching from the stage of Painting with a Twist Studio making people laugh and dance in their seats while they paint beautiful images, I am a Spanish language instructor, a portrait artist and art model, a cat enthusiast, a yoga and dance “expert,” an adventurer, a lover, a tourist, a connoisseur of interesting bar conversations, and a Free Spirit.
Tanya

Tanya

Hello! My name is Tanya! I've been experimenting with all types of art since I was a small child but have equally had a love for science. I honed my artistic abilities studying studio art at the University of South Florida while simultaneously getting my bachelors degree in biomedical sciences. I work full-time as a clinical researcher at Florida Cancer Specialists and was absolutely delighted to join the painting with a twist team at Carrollwood as a part-time instructor and assistant. Getting to share my love of painting with like-minded individuals is literally a dream come true! Outside of art and science I love singing and songwriting, nerdy tv shows/movies, traveling and hanging out with friends, family and my wonderful husband. I truly believe everybody can paint and I would love to be a part of your journey with art! Come see me sometime and live long and prosper!

"There is more to an artist than creating art, but through art, the artist can learn wonders about one's self! This process is why I love seeing the complexity of an individual unfold in their unique piece. I appreciate all forms of artistic expression - creativity is so interesting to me! I want to see what we each consider our art and learn something. These passions have now led me to teach! I joined the awesome PWAT crew in 2016. Inspired by the Florida sun & educated by every mind I can reach, I am a Bay Area-native with a smiling personality. I live to inspire creativity in all places in our community - starting with you :) If I had a wish, murals would color every building in the city. My favorite things (other than art...) are my loved ones, travel, nature, cooking, organization, languages, philosophy, theater, comedy, coffee, frogs, skateboarding, & the number three. I am a USF Alumni '10, & the entrepreneur of Vicious Art Studios (@viciousartstudios). I can't wait to teach you all something fun - so grab your brushes soon & come paint with me!"

Art has been by far the greatest love affair of my life. My earliest childhood memory is of just that, painting a bowl of recognizable fruit at 4 years old. I believe everyone has a spark of creativity buried deep within them and my goal as an instructor is to uncover that spark and share my passion and joy with you for art. While painting is my first love, I'm also a mixed media artist and dabble a little here and a little there in almost every medium. There is beauty all about us should we choose to stand still for a moment, let go of expectations and judgement and open our eyes to that possibility.

I am an artist and fashionista, a lover of wine, the color purple and love to travel. After a 26 ½ year career as a county government employee, I escaped the politics and bureaucracy to immerse myself in my passion of art and painting. Divinely guided to Painting with a Twist by a white heron, my friend Sharon and I are living proof that you can Live Your Dream and have a blast doing it!

“I dream to paint, then paint my dream!” My passion has always been Art. I have always had a crayon, paintbrush, pencil, or pen in my hand. The last words my father spoke to me were “Keep Painting” and I will always honor that! I am a proud mom of two sons, two beautiful daughter-in laws and the most beautiful grandson in the whole entire universe REALLY! With my “partner in crime” Michelle aka Sherlock, we have had the opportunity to see our extended PWAT Family grow and allow people to tell us “ I am an artist and I didn’t even know it!” This is MY dream, and I am following it EVERYDAY... Someday I WILL "Paint in Paris!"
