Our Honolulu, HI - Kaka'ako Painting with a Twist Artists
It wasn’t too long ago I was spending my days cruising around performing in concerts with my sisters and exploring my beautiful home with my trusty sidekick Flounder. Then that pesky sea witch Ursula decided to get involved. Oh Wait….that’s the little mermaid.
For real though I have been creating art and performing since I could hold a crayon. I remember when I was super little my grandmama would bring over dresses from her shop and I would make up and put on plays for her complete with sets. As I got older I would go into her shop with her and sew and create my own outfits. This continued until I got a bit older and “too cool”. It wasn’t until I went to college that I realized that art and design was something that not only did I real enjoy doing but something that I was really good at and would love to make a living doing. I attended the University of Rhode Island majoring in Textiles, Merchandising and Design and Art Studio. While there I was in several student art and fashion shows. The passion for art and performing has persisted since then and I am super psyched that I get to put it to good use here at Painting with a Twist. If you want to know more about me or see some of my artwork
I've always been one of those ~weird ones~ that was super into science and math but also loved art and theater. In school, my favorite days were those that started with wild mornings in drama class followed by a tall, cool glass of calculus. I've taken my passion for art and science into my career as a chemical/materials engineer and in life as a Bob Ross enthusiast (among other things, of course). I hope we get to paint together and create some awesome, unique, fine and dandy art!
Hi! Hello! I'm Debbie (aka Lil' Debbie, like the snacks). Originally from America's snowiest major city, I graduated with a degree in Visual Studies and Communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout college, I dabbled in painting, digital design, and photography, and ultimately focused on sculpture and installation work. Since then, I have been working as a special educator to some superstar kindergarteners while earning my master's degree on the side. I danced for many many years - took a break after moving here - but the stage was calling me back. While it's not dancing, I love teaching painting and entertaining up there even more! Looking forward to seeing you in the studio - bring yourself, maybe a few dance moves, and we'll have the paint! Check out my website to learn more about what I do:
Hi!! I’m Erin and I was born and raised in Indiana. After graduating from college I moved to Florida where I taught elementary and middle school math for 12 years. I recently moved out to Hawaii and joined the PWAT team. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I’m so happy I get to continue that passion with painting. Hope to see you in one of my classes soon!!
Jordyn grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and then ventured to north Louisiana to hone her creative skills at Louisiana Tech University. In 2014 she graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in both Studio Art and Communication Design. She loves people, hence her love for drawing and painting the human figure and portraits. She also favors using charcoal and oil paints, and enjoys incorporating fun technology like vinyl or laser cutting into her projects. After college she taught drawing classes at Walt Disney World (which was magical!) and then taught painting at a Painting With A Twist in Louisiana. Now's she's with PWAT again, here in Hawaii, and is very excited for the opportunity to help people create more art. She is an upbeat and encouraging person who hopes she can help you have fun and take home a painting you will cherish!
ALOOOOHA!!! My name is Kileigh (pronounced Kai-lee), and I am a painter, golfer, singer, huge pepperoni pizza lover, and the immensely proud mother of a 2 year old mini-lop bunny. In my free time I like to paint beaches, landscapes, and geometric art...and watch a lot of Netflix. If you know any good TV series I can get into, please let me know. I am originally from Ocoee, Tennessee where I grew up on a goat farm, so if you need help wrangling goats (aka dragging them by the horns) or chasing down chickens, don't call me but just know that I do know how to do those things. I live on the West Side of O'ahu (WEST SIDE, BEST SIDE) and am also a licensed secondary education art teacher. I graduated with a degree in Communications and Studio Art from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and I also have a Master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins...so basically, teaching is my jam and I love painting!!! If you paint with me, we'll put our own unique "twist" on our paintings together :) Check out my IG for a little more about me and what I create
Aloha! You can call me Koko, the Kooky, energetic, and musical painter. I grew up on a banana farm here on the island, where my imagination swept me into the sky and over the jungle, into other worlds. So all my life, I have loved creating paintings of nature as well as mystical creatures. After receiving my bachelors in graphic art, I journeyed all over the states and even to Korea creating unique art as well as working as a musical performer. Expect entertainment when you are around me, because I am also a professional singer, actress, and laughter addict. ^_^
I love spreading joy through art, and showing that anyone can do it! Let's paint beautiful things together!
Hey y’all! I’m Mitch! I’m a semi-young creative nomad who is always looking for a twist. My favorite color is plaid. In my free time I like watching cheerleading fails and bouncing water off my butt cheeks! Kidding, but it sounds like a great time. Haven’t spent more than 3 to 5 years in the same place twice. There’s so much to see and do. I’m having the best time ever! I’ve always thought outside the box, been outside the box.. apparently, there’s this box and I just don’t fit in it.. Come paint with us! Make good choices!
