Dog Days of Summer

By now, the secret is out that we are kind of obsessed with animals. We kicked off the summer with Oregon Humane Society’s Doggie Dash, an annual fundraiser for the local animal shelter. In addition to offering a fun, take home paw print activity, we introduced the world to Dog Ross and Dog-ian Lillard. The event was a pawsitve success, raising $766,486 to help with their mission of fighting animal cruelty, healing injured pets and finding fur-ever homes for more than 11,000 pets each year.

Continuing our summer goal to spend as much time around animals as possible, we combined two of our favorite things, pups and wine, at Campbell Lane Winery for Oregon Dog Rescue’s Wags for Wine. Holly and Jess had a blast sipping on pinot, and creating keepsake paw prints for the local pups. It’s a ruff way to spend the afternoon, but someone’s gotta do it.

July flew by and before we knew it, it was our second year joining Oregon Humane for Canine’s Uncorked. We got to experience craft saké at SakéOne in Hillsboro, and met a ton of great dogs and their humans! As usual, we were the puparazzi and got great photos of the willing dog models. We even met America’s Next Top Dog Model, Moto Girl. She was a gracious celebrity, and looked fabulous in her custom attire.

If you’re a fellow pet lover like us, and you must be if you’ve read this far, join us! We’ll be hosting our last #PaintYourPetPDX event of the summer in the studio on Wednesday, August 28th. Proceeds benefit the wonderful Oregon Dog Rescue, Family Dogs New Life and Oregon Humane Society. For more information, click here.

Next up, we’re moving on to a slightly bigger animal. We’ll be closing out the summer on August 24/25th with Llama-poolza, featuring local celebrities Rojo the Llama and Napoleon the Alpaca. We’re taking painters to the farm for a hands on experience. A lucky few VIPs will be seated in the pasture with the animals, while the rest of the party overlooks from the cozy, covered patio. You won’t want to miss this one! For more information, visit our full calendar of events.
