Painting with a Twist FAQ

What is Painting with a Twist?

Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes we use acrylic paints on 16x20 canvas and teach the class step by step through the specific painting for that session. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have a great time!

Do you offer underage classes?

Yes! All of our adult classes are now AGE 12 & UP! You can also find younger teen and kids classes on our calendar!

How do I reserve my seat?

You reserve your seat by going over to our calendar tab then clicking on the painting of your choice. You will then be able to enter your info in and pay for your spot! You can also call us and reserve your spot over the phone.

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

We hold classes at specific times and those are the times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our calendar, select a painting you like and register online. We offer open studio sessions once or twice a month, during which painters may choose their own painting and paint it without an artist up on stage leading them through it. At least one of our artists will be available for any help needed. Pre-registration is required for our "open studio" class, as well as all other classes. Walk-ins to a class are allowed, but the class could be full.

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?

Our studio offers complimentary iced water & hot coffee upon request. We also offer beer, wine, mimosas, sodas & teas for purchase  If you have a sweet tooth or are just hungry we sell candy bars, chips, nuts, and cake balls! Also have sandwiches & chip/dip plates.  Party hosts are allowed to bring in a cake (and ice cream, if desired). A freezer as well as a fridge is available.

Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?

Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes and paint. When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang!

Can my friends come and watch us without painting?

Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes, except during a Family Day class.

What are the prices for a class?

Two hour classes are offered for $35 and three hour classes for $45. Kids classes are $25.

When do you post a new monthly schedule?

The calendar is posted on the 15th of every month.

Will my painting be dry by the end of the night?

Yes, if it is still damp, we have hair dryers which will dry them quickly.

At what time should I arrive for class?

Fifteen minutes would be plenty of lead time.

Do you do reserved seating?

Yes, when you make a reservation there is a place for you to enter who you want to be sitting by.

What do I wear?

Whatever is comfortable and you don't mind if a little paint gets on it. Paint will come out with water if you notice it right away. We encourage you to wear our smocks to protect your clothes.

Do I need a reservation?

We do require reservations with payment to secure seats and we require at least a 24-hour cancellation to receive a credit. Less than 24 hr cancellations and no calls/no shows will not be issued store credit or refunds.

Do you do private parties?

Yes, we can accommodate up to 48 people in our larger room and 36 in the other. See Party Info.

What size is the canvas?

16x20, 10x30, 24x36, and 12x12 (also have new rectangular boards, shiplap pallets (alternating boards) and square pallets (not alternating).

How do I register with a Gift Card or Certificate?

To register with a Gift card or certificate you will click on the painting of your choice and register and when you get to payment options there will be a place for you to enter the code off of the certificate or card. If you have a voucher purchased from another website either call or email with the name of the painting you are wanting to come to and how many painters you will have – you will then bring in the voucher at the time of class.  Certificates are always LIMIT ONE PER PERSON PER EVENT and are not to be used with another special.

Will I have enough seats for my group in a coming up class?

Our main studio room can hold up to 48 painters. This larger studio has two 55" TVs so you can always have a close up view of the artist's easel no matter where

you are seated.  If seats start to fill up, we indicate this as “10 seats left...5 seats left..” etc. on the calendar.
