What is Painting with a Twist?

Painting with a Twist is a FUN place to create ART...our crazy-fun artists make painting EASY and ENJOYABLE for those with NO ART ABILITY....with step-by-step instructions and even stencils! 

Do you offer underage classes?

Yes! ALL of our events may be attended by AGES 12+.  We also offer family-friendly 1.5 hour events for AGES 6+ for just $27 per painter, on some weekends.  

How do I reserve my seat?

Reserve your seats by clicking on the following link, then clicking on the calendar event:  Just takes a few minutes. Or you can call us at 509-413-9892 to reserve your seats if unable to do so online. Walk-ins are also welcome, but we recommend calling to make sure the class still has seats available.  

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

We offer a Freestyle Open Studio BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on weekday afternoons from 2-6 pm/some weekend afternoons. AGES 6+ ***THERE IS NO ARTIST STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS EVENT.***  Choose your painting from any Painting with a Twist studio's calendar found at We will have your station set up and a picture of your painting as well as written instructions ready for you. Cost is $15 for a 12x12 or $25 for a 16x20. CALL US at 509-413-9892 to register for this Freestyle Open Studio. 

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?

You may bring in food, including catered. Our studio offers complimentary bottles of iced water & gourmet hot coffee upon request.  We sell snack items, and you may purchase freshly-made food from our menu, including giant pretzels, grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas & charcuterie boards. 

Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?

Until the Covid mandate is lifted, please bring a mask to wear when you are NOT seated at your painting table. Your reservation includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with a disposable apron, the type of painting surface you have chosen, brushes and paint. If you choose our Real Pine Plank Board, you are given hangers and an instruction card to seal for outdoor display.

Can my friends come and watch us without painting?

During this time when we are having to socially distance/greatly reduce how many painters we can accommodate, we ask that everyone pay for a seat if they wish to stay on the premises.  

What are the prices for a class?

Classes are offered for $37-$55, depending on what surface you choose to paint, and Family-Friendly 1.5 hr classes are $27.  16x20 or 12x12 canvases are $37, 10x30 canvases $39, Screen Art is $45, 17.5x17 or 10.5x26 Pine Plank Real Wood Boards $45, 16x18 shiplap pallet (alternating planks) $39, 16x18 Slatted Pallet $37, 24x36 canvases are $50, Framed canvases, with a 14x18 painting surface and a 1" frame you can custom paint, including "wrapping" the painting around the frame for a unique effect $43 and our BRAND NEW 10.5x47 Real Wood Porch Leaner $55.

When do you post a new monthly schedule?

The calendar is posted on the 1st day of the month before (or close to that).  If you'd like to receive bimonthly emails announcing the new calendar and other events, please email us at and request to be added to our email list.  

Will my painting be dry by the end of the night?

Yes, if it is still damp, we have hair dryers which will dry them quickly. Also have large paper bags to carry your painting home in. 

At what time should I arrive for class

At least 15-20 minutes before (you are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes before class starting time to start relaxing, sipping & visiting).

Do you do reserved seating?

Yes, when you make a reservation there is a place for you to enter who you want to be seated next to. If your group is all signing up for a get-together in one of our public events, decide on a name for your group, then have everyone enter that name in the Notes section so we can seat you together.

What do I wear?

Whatever is comfortable and you don't mind if a little paint gets on it. Paint will come out with water if you notice it right away. We encourage you to wear our disposable aprons to protect your clothes. 

Do I need a reservation?

How do you handle cancellations?

We require notice of cancellation no later than 24 hours before event in order to receive a store credit. "No calls/no shows" will not be issued store credit. If you have a VALID, verifiable emergency, call us before the class; we handle these on a case-by-case situation.

Do you do private parties?

Yes, Please see Party Info. However, most groups choose our "Party in a Larger Party" option, which is simply chosing one of our open to the public events already on our calendar and having everyone sign up, entering the group's name so we can seat you all together.  The more, the merrier!  You are seated together, you get a separate table for foods you bring, and if your event is at least a month out, you may get to choose the painting!  NO WORRIES about meeting minimum numbers of attendees, no deposit to be made, and no agreement to sign.  

How do I register with a Gift Card or Certificate?

To register with a Gift card or certificate you received from Painting with a Twist, click on the painting of your choice and when you get to payment options there will be a place for you to enter the code off of the certificate or card. If you have a voucher purchased from another website either call or email with the name of the painting you are wanting to come to and how many painters you will have – you will then bring in the voucher at the time of class.  Certificates are always LIMIT ONE PER PERSON PER EVENT and are not to be used with another special.  

Will I have enough seats for my group in an upcoming class?

If seats start to fill up, we indicate this on the calendar event site as “8 seats left”, etc. During this Covid mandate period, our main studio room can hold up to 16-18 painters & the smaller studio 11-12. (The larger studio has two 55" TVs so you can always have a close up view of the artist's easel no matter where you are seated.)  Call us for information, please.  509-413-9892

Cancellation Policy:

  • We do not offer refunds.

  • If you notify the studio NO LATER THAN 24 hours before the class we will issue you a store credit.
  • No-shows/No-calls will not receive store credit. 

  • Private Event Hosts: Full payment for the minimum required seats must be made no later than one week before your private event.

  • Bad Weather: Class will cancel if a weather emergency is declared or we determine the roads to be too unsafe to travel on, otherwise our cancellation policy is as stated above. In the very rare case of a class cancelling due to poor weather conditions, attendees are given the options of a store credit, being transfered to the rescheduled class date, or receiving a refund.  Please call us for updates in a case of questionable weather.

  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive 10 or more minutes late you may not be allowed to participate if the artist cannot get you caught up without disrupting all the painters who arrived on time.  PLEASE ARRIVE 15-20 MINUTES BEFORE THE CLASS START TIME, AND BE READY TO HAVE AN AMAZING TIME!
