Our Temple, TX Painting with a Twist Artists

Karen

Karen

Karen is originally from Baton Rouge, La, and spent most of her life inTexas, relocating to the Temple area in 2014 when she joined the PWAT team. She graduated from Texas State University with a BBA in management and focused on a corporate career in both the insurance and legal industries. Having no formal art education or training, she is self taught and has sketched and painted all her life, and art has always been second nature to her. She loves painting and creating and has discovered that she also loves teaching and really enjoys sharing her gift of painting with others. Helping people learn to paint has become a never ending rewarding experience to her and she absolutely loves her 'job'! She is also a freelance artist and enjoys painting anything from murals to Tom's shoes and everything in between. When she's not in the studio painting, she enjoys spending time with her husband Robin, raising and caring for their alpacas and all the other critters at their ranch. Karen and her husband Robin purchased the Temple studio in 2017 and are enjoying their new adventure as business owners and look forward to inspiring people to have fun and create lasting memories through art!

ANTONIO

ANTONIO

Antonio is an artist who loves “creativity.” Why you might ask? He says, “By being creative, you are free to add your own individuality into anything you create.” He’s lived in Texas all his life, grew up in different cities, and all his experiences thrive on that, individuality. His favorite mediums are acrylics, pastels and pencils. While working on various pieces, he uses different tools to aid him with inspiration for his creations. When he is not working with art, he ventures outdoors for hiking and running to revitalize the senses. Also, he enjoys gaming, watching movies, relaxing, and being out with family and friends.

Wren

Wren

Wren is a passionate multimedia artist born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, but has lived as far away as Hawaii. Art has always been her true calling, showing signs of being gifted from an early age. Along with painting, Wren also creates works in various glass disciplines, including lamp worked jewelry, and stained glass. A lover of travel, music, and a good time, her style is constantly evolving as she draws inspiration from the beautiful sights of the world around and her life’s experiences along the way. She believes art is for everyone and is an advocate for its healing benefits.

Miriah K

Miriah K

Born in Newport News, Virginia, raised in Sarasota, Florida and finished high school and college in Huntington, West Virginia; it's hard to answer when people ask me where I'm from. But I have to say my heart has always been in West Virginia. I graduated Marshall University a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on sculpture. Before I moved to Texas I was sure to leave my mark on my hometown with large painted barn quilts as part of the Appalachian Quilt Trail. As well as a mural design, now in place, for the 4th Street viaduct. I moved to Texas, with my husband, shortly after college in hopes to further my career in Art. Painting with a Twist has made it possible for me to keep my creative juices flowing and continues to inspire me to do great things in the Art world.
