Karen is originally from Baton Rouge, La, and spent most of her life inTexas, relocating to the Temple area in 2014 when she joined the PWAT team. She graduated from Texas State University with a BBA in management and focused on a corporate career in both the insurance and legal industries. Having no formal art education or training, she is self taught and has sketched and painted all her life, and art has always been second nature to her. She loves painting and creating and has discovered that she also loves teaching and really enjoys sharing her gift of painting with others. Helping people learn to paint has become a never ending rewarding experience to her and she absolutely loves her 'job'! She is also a freelance artist and enjoys painting anything from murals to Tom's shoes and everything in between. When she's not in the studio painting, she enjoys spending time with her husband Robin, raising and caring for their alpacas and all the other critters at their ranch. Karen and her husband Robin purchased the Temple studio in 2017 and are enjoying their new adventure as business owners and look forward to inspiring people to have fun and create lasting memories through art!
Antonio is an artist who loves “creativity.” Why you might ask? He says, “By being creative, you are free to add your own individuality into anything you create.” He’s lived in Texas all his life, grew up in different cities, and all his experiences thrive on that, individuality. His favorite mediums are acrylics, pastels and pencils. While working on various pieces, he uses different tools to aid him with inspiration for his creations. When he is not working with art, he ventures outdoors for hiking and running to revitalize the senses. Also, he enjoys gaming, watching movies, relaxing, and being out with family and friends.
Carla was born and raised in multiple cities across Texas. She has a AA in Art from Temple College. She has always had a love for color and anything to do with being hands on and creative. This is what fueled her love for art. She works in many different mediums, including acrylic and oil painting, pen, pencil and colored pencil. When she's not doing art she enjoys hiking, roller skating, playing video games and spending time with her husband Tylor and their 3 cats.
Katherine is an Art Education major at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has a passion for creating and a heart for children. She has worked with most mediums but she loves sculpture and ceramics. Painting with oil or acrylic is relaxing but she'd rather challenge herself with something 3D. In her free time she enjoys crocheting and embroidery. One day she hopes to be an elementary art teacher to remind children to keep a creative mind while in school.
Born in Newport News, Virginia, raised in Sarasota, Florida and finished high school and college in Huntington, West Virginia; it's hard to answer when people ask me where I'm from. But I have to say my heart has always been in West Virginia. I graduated Marshall University a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on sculpture. Before I moved to Texas I was sure to leave my mark on my hometown with large painted barn quilts as part of the Appalachian Quilt Trail. As well as a mural design, now in place, for the 4th Street viaduct. I moved to Texas, with my husband, shortly after college in hopes to further my career in Art. Painting with a Twist has made it possible for me to keep my creative juices flowing and continues to inspire me to do great things in the Art world.
My name is Taylor Street. I was born in Grapevine Texas where most of my close family grew up. I love doing art on my free time, and I also dabble in music a little. I have an adorable little puppy named Oakley who I love and adore even tho she can be a pain sometimes. My favorite color is currently pink but it does change quite often. I love making new friends and forming new relationships with people.
