Amy Brauer is a Chattanooga native who loves making art, cooking, and throwing parties. An art teacher by day, she enjoys teaching at PWAT for fun, which is pretty much exactly like her day job, except with wine instead of grades. (So, in fact, not really like her day job at all. Close enough.) When she’s not teaching art somewhere, she’s probably hanging out in the backyard with her fella Corban and their kiddo, Briony.
A world traveler by heart that continuously seeks a passion for Art and Yoga. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Johnson State College located in the beautiful, snowy mountains of Vermont, and received my Yoga Teacher Training certification here in Chattanooga. Over my lifetime, I have traveled to almost every state in the U.S. and over seas. Nature is my calling, any activity that involves being active and outdoors brings a lot of tranquility to my life. Nature really inspires a lot of the art I create in my spare time. I mostly find myself immersed in tranquil and zen like drawings. Painting was always a way to allow my busy head to indulge in a creative tangent.
Corban Brauer grew up in Ireland, but smitten by the charms of a girl from Tennessee, he decided he’d better settle down here if he wanted to marry up with her (he was right, and now, they’re both PWAT instructors and have a Little Twist of their own). An avid landscape painter, Corban also works as an art teacher. He enjoys long walks on the beach, eighties hair metal, and curling his fancy moustache. This bio was definitely not written by his wife.
Dawn's current goal in life is to be a modern-day renaissance man. Being crafty is what she does. From jewelry to wood projects to reviving old furniture, she loves anything she can make with her hands. You can find her covered in paint, sawdust, or fabric bits at any given time. When she's not loving life at work, she's tackling the latest art project or cuddling her dog, Panda. Common words to describe her are: bookworm, comical, eccentric, weird, and cheerful. Her personal philosophy is that every person has the potential to be an artist. She's here to bring out the artist in you!
Hannah Hahn was born in northern Alabama but spent most her life in Memphis, Tennessee, soaking up the southern cultures that are so unique to this area of the United States. She came to Chattanooga in 2010, receiving a degree in Art Education and History a few years later. She has been experimenting with art from a young age, taking classes or writing stories complete with illustrations. Doodling and drawing evolved into painting as well as other media exploration, and Hannah’s curiosity continues as she seeks out different ways to make art and portray the world around her or the one in her head. She considers her work as part of her learning process; meeting new people and going to new places are constant influences, as are revisiting old friends or stomping grounds, or sometimes consulting the humanities and histories of others. She enjoys making things for people and for herself, with art serving as her passion and her source for relaxation. She hopes that her love of art with resonate with you!
Katie Ott is a Chattanooga native who is pursuing an associates degree in art at Chattanooga State Community College. Her love of art started at a very young age; she has wanted to be an artist literally all of her life. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym, playing with her 3 dogs, being outdoors, drawing, and painting.
Leigh Anne is our social media marketing assistant and is responsible for the wonderful collages on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. She also helps us with all our marketing events around Chattanooga. We are excited to have her, she is a wonderful addition to our staff. She loves to take classes with us so you may catch her in a class one night!
Taylor Thompson is a Nashville transplant who will be graduating from UTC with a BFA in Graphic Design this coming May. Art has always been her passion, and she has always drawn on anything she could get her hands on. When she’s not taking (or teaching) classes you can find Taylor spending time with her dogs Marley and Biggie Smalls, or working in the studio on her own artistic pieces.
