Painting with a Twist is a fun, relaxed art studio experience designed for people of all skill levels—especially beginners! Guests follow step-by-step instructions from an artist to complete a specific painting, using acrylic paints on canvas or wood. The atmosphere is energetic and social, with music playing and sometimes even singing or dancing. It’s more about having fun than creating fine art!

What surfaces can I paint on?

  • A variety of surfaces are available, depending on the event, including:
    • Canvas in different sizes
    • Wood boards
    • Shiplap pallets
    • Porch leaners

Are DIY candles easy to make?

  • Yes! Candles take about 10 minutes to make.
  • You can choose from seasonal and year-round fragrances.
  • Candles set while you paint.
  • Available during classes or “Pop In DIY” sessions.

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

  • “Pop In and Paint” sessions are available, but most events require pre-registration.
  • We offer classes 7 days a week. Check the online calendar to choose and register for a class.
  • You can also send us a private party request. Click on "Host A Party" and you can plan your very own party and choose your own painting from over 8,000+ choices!

Can I bring food and drinks?

  • Yes! The studio is BYOB (bring your own beverages/snacks).

Do I need to bring anything?

  • No, everything is provided: apron, brushes, paint, canvas, and instruction.
  • Just bring your own snacks and drinks if desired.

Do I have to draw the image myself?

  • No! Artists guide you through everything.
  • Sketching is done in advance for complex subjects like people and animals.

Can children participate?

Yes! Age-appropriate classes include:

  • Family Day: Ages 7+
  • All Ages: Ages 10+
  • Teen & Up: Ages 13+
  • Evening Classes: Adults 18+

Can someone come and watch without painting?

  • Everyone must have a paid seat to stay, except during Family Day classes.

Policies

Cancellation:

  • More than 24 hours' notice: Store credit issued
  • Within 24 hours: One-time class transfer
  • Within 2 hours of class: No credit issued

Private Events: Follow terms in the signed agreement.

Bad Weather:

  • If the studio cancels due to weather, a credit is issued.
  • Check the website for updates during questionable weather.

Late Arrivals:

  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early.
  • If 30+ minutes late, you can still paint but will need to catch up on your own.
