Jacobi

Jacobi

Jacobi has been in Denton, Texas since 2006 and has been working for Painting with a Twist since September 2016. Starting as an assistant and instructor, she is now the owner and lead artist of the Denton Painting with a Twist. She has both her cosmetology and culinary arts certification, and she has been expressing her creative side from the age of 4. When she isn't busy chasing after her two little boys or at the studio, she can be found painting commissions for others. Check out her website!

You can usually catch her in her photography studio, photographing local burlesque shows, or rummaging the mini-mall with her husband and daughter. So if you see an artist with pink eyebrows, don't be afraid to come up and say hello!

Amanda

Amanda has been a Dentonite since 2011 and has worked for Painting with a Twist since October 2019. She is a well known artist around town for the many murals she has assisted in creating. Her art can also be found sprinkled about town in various coffee shops and galleries throughout different times of the year. Painting with a Twist has allowed her to pursue her dreams of being an art teacher - she loves working alongside folds to help them create their own beautiful works of art! When she isn't at the studio, she can be found creating large colorful paintings at home, working on commissions, and chasing chickens! Check out her personal works with the link.

Laura

Laura

Laura is a Denton born artist who attended Texas Woman’s University for Art Education. Like any artist, Laura enjoys dabbling in many mediums, crafts, skills such as crochet, embroidery, watercolor, d.i.y, recycled “trashion” fashion with affinities for color, animals, landscape, hand-lettering, or anything spooky. Some of her favorite inspirations include artists Mark Ryden (Pop Surrealist Painter), Christine McConnell (Photographer, Extreme Baker), Brandi Milne (Pop Surrealist), Drag Queens, 80s dance playlists, cats and any dogs that are seen from our shop window. Laura’s favorite thing to paint is anything colorful, and is always thrilled to see others trying new things and playing with paint! She also loves it when you share your wine and cookies with her. Lastly, a quote from Vincent Van Gogh, “If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”
