From Brooklyn to Roselle to Ocean Grove to Middletown, Joe is now spending time in Holmdel to spread some fun in the form of art. After 36 years on Wall Street, he had had enough and is focused on smiles and fun times.
Always learning from the other artists, Joe will make occasional and cameo appearances on stage. His focus is what goes on behind the scenes, but don't be surprised if he is your artist on stage.
John was always a doodler. He read the “how-tos,” took classes, and otherwise studied art, but
was never more than a hobbyist. Then, while working as a clerk, he was asked to paint window
murals for a comic book store. Not much more came of his art professionally after that, and he
moved from retail, to electrical construction, to Parks & Recreation, and about a dozen other
things in-between. But on the side he painted more murals, designed signs, drew coloring books,
and continued to develop his art. Today, John brings a wide range of experiences to the studio,
where he loves making art fun – whether you’re an art major or you’ve just got a minor in
As the daughter of a talented painter and designer, creativity has always been in my blood. I’ve dabbled in graphic design, paper craft, theater, and even special effects makeup but my dream is to become an elementary art teacher! I am also in the process of creating my own business to sell the blankets, wreaths, paper crafts and other original art I create.
When I am not a “maker”, I love to be with my family, friends and my fur baby Daisy. I enjoy movies, music, travel, coffee, food, anything heart shaped and trying new things. As a local resident, I’m excited to work in the first art studio in the area. I can’t wait to for us to meet to so we can make new art and fun new memories!
Sue Monteleone majored in fine art at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. From there she worked in the fashion industry in New York City for 17 years designing and sourcing men's and women's sportswear. She left that career to raise her two children and while doing so worked locally in the crafting industry in product development and teaching. When her son founded Monteleone Dance, a New York City based dance company, Sue began assisting him with costume and set design. Although skilled in a variety of mediums, Sue's personal favorite has always been painting and for the past two years has enjoyed sharing that passion with others at local Paint and Sip studios, first at Pinot's Palette in Red Bank, NJ and now here at Painting with a Twist in Holmdel, NJ.
