Where are you located?
In Hendersonville, TN off Indian Lake Blvd. in the shopping center with Dunkin' Dounuts. For additional parking, feel free to use the parking lot at Cornerstone Bank, next door, during non-banking hours.
What is PWAT?
Painting with a Twist is a fun art and social studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes we use acrylic paints on 16x20 canvases and teach the class step by step through the featured painting of the day. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!
What are the class formats?
Public Classes: Anyone can join these classes. Instructor leads the class from our stage giving step-by-step instruction.
Customer Choice: Purchase 2 seats and you select the painting. Class made available to the public. The time and day pre-determined.
Private Party: Get your own private room and select your own painting. You even decide the day and time. There is a 10 person minimum.
Pick 6: Purchase 6 seats and you select the painting. Available Mon - Thur anytime and Fridays before 5pm.
Open Studio: Pick any painting using optional surfaces (canvas or wood). Instructor teaches from the floor similar to a workshop.
How does it work?
Find a public class on our calendar that fits your taste and your schedule.
To register online, simply click on “Event Calendar” on the left side of the screen. Find the class and painting that work best for you. Click on “Reserve Online” link under the painting and fill in the blanks. Payment is due at the time of the reservation to guarantee your seat and accumulate Rewards Points. If you choose not to pay online, please call our studio to make a payment by phone at 615-447-3526 or visit our studio in person for payment. Bring your favorite sips and snacks. Get ready for a great time out!
How much does it cost?
Two hour classes are offered at $35, three hour classes are $45, and paint your own pet classes are $55.
Do classes get canceled?
We make every effort not to cancel classes, but it can happen if we don't have anyone signed up.
What does the fee cover?
Everything you need to create your one of a kind masterpiece…the brushes, paints, canvas, easel, aprons, and the talented instructor!
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in! Please be aware that acrylic paint can permanently stain clothing. We will have aprons available for you at the studio.
What should I bring?
Anything you would like to eat or drink during class as well as serving utensils and ice if you have anything that needs chilling. We do provide corkscrews, cups and napkins as well as buckets for ice.
Do I have to paint the featured painting?
If you would like to take your painting in a new direction—go for it! We encourage creativity! However, our Artist will be providing step by step instructions to the class for the featured painting.
Do I need a reservation?
We do require reservations, with payment, to guarantee your seat. You can register online, by phone, or in person! Walk-ins are accommodated on a “first come, first serve” basis. Many of our classes sell out so we encourage you to book ahead!
I’m meeting friends, may we sit together?
Option 1: Select the number of seats you want to reserve for the specific class online and pay online.
Option 2: Ask everyone in your group to reserve individually online and to specify a group name or point person in the "Who Do You Want to Sit With" box.
If you pay online as a group in a single reservation, you will automatically be seated together.
Can my friend come and watch us without painting?
Our studio seating is only for paid participants (no sharing of one canvas with multiple painters). We can’t allow additional spectators who do not have a paid seat in the class to sit in the studio next to you.
Can my child come with me to paint?
We welocme all painters who are ages 7+ (look for ages 7+ on calendar). These classes are in the mornings and afternoons. All other classes (beginning at 5pm or later) are intended for adult painters (ages 15+). During classes, we cannot allow our participants to bring infants, toddlers or children younger than 7 years of age. If this happens at the time of a class, we will be happy to issue you a store credit to come at another, more convenient time. Please note, we can't allow sharing a canvas with multiple painters.
Can I help my child paint their canvas during Kid’s or Afternoon classes?
All of our classes are intended to be one painter to a canvas. If your child requires assistance, one of our awesome Artists will be happy to help! We ask that you allow the young artists to discover their own creativity and not help them “correct" their painting. Applaud their effort and encourage their journey!
What is your cancellation policy?
"No show" "No call" reservations will not receive any credits or refunds. 24 hour notice is required for refunds, otherwise a store credit will be issued. Sold Out classes and custom classes have a different policy (see below).
Sold Out Class (cancellation policy)
Full payment is due at the time of your reservation to guarantee a spot. When there's a waiting list, cancellations less than 6 hour notice will not receive a store credit. Custom classes, such as Paint Your Pet and Open Studio have a separate policy (see below).
Custom Paintings, ie. Paint Your Pet/Portrait/House/Open Studio/Customer Choice (cancellation policy)
We will not offer a refund, rather, we will give you a store credit to come back and visit our studio. When there's a waiting list, 3 day notice is required to receive full store credit.
Gift Certificate (cancellation policy)
If you cancel a class in which a gift certificate was used for the reservation, we will not issue you another gift certificate.

Should I tip the Artist/Assistant?
Tips are greatly appreciated, but never required. The Artists greatly appreciate it and it helps them to know that they are doing a fantastic job!

What is the rewards program and how do I join?
The Painting with a Twist Rewards program is our way of rewarding you for PARTYING with us! With a Painting with a Twist Customer Rewards account, you will be able to accumulate Rewards Points that can be redeemed for Rewards and discounts on future classes! Joining is easy. You will be presented with the option to create an account after you complete an online reservation, or you can visit the “My Rewards Account” page to get started. Creating an account is free, and you will receive 5,000 Points just for joining!
Can I redeem a gift certificate?
On the Complete My Registration screen, at the bottom with Payment Method, you will see a place to click "Have a Gift Card?". Enter the 16-digit code in that field. If you have any trouble, give us a call and we can enter in your reservation for you.
