I received my BFA in Painting at Tyler School of Art with a minor in Art Education, and am currently working as a K-12 Art Teacher. In my free time I love spending time with my guinea pig and watching horror movies.

Julian Kelly

Julian has been working for Painting with a Twist since December of 2021. He didn't do very much painting before he worked here, but grew to love it and now does rather often outside of work! His most distinctive art, however, is definitely his puppets. He designs and hand-sews his own unique felt puppet characters, each of them special and with their own personalities. His favorite things include birds, biology, and Jojo's bizarre adventure. You'll be sure to leave with a beautiful work of art if you take a class with Julian!

Hi I'm Karen! I have painted frequently during my youth but slowed down when I raising my children, Laura & Chris. Now in my life, working at Painting with a Twist, on South St., I have found the community where I belong. I look forward to coming to the studio and spending time with some of my favorite people, teaching beautiful artworks to fun-loving groups of people!!! I also have a small business with my daughter, making customized crafts, jewelry, wreaths, ornaments and many more items, for any occasion or holiday. Kate is a Philadelphia based artist who continues to practice her craft everyday. Her background in painting has opened many opportunities for her around the community. Including, but not limited to, curating First Friday shows, personal commissioned pieces, and numerous murals and signage for bars and restaurants around the city. Besides her work in the fine arts , for the past decade has been an independent contractor. Mainly working in interior/ exterior painting and wall repair, she also recently lived in the Caribbean where she learned how to varnish large scale buildings and villas on island. Kate is excited to be working with PWAT, and hopes to share her love and joy in painting with others.

Hi, I’m Michelle! I’m a full time social worker and a certified EMT. Art has always been such an important aspect of my identity, and I am thrilled that I get to connect with others through art at Painting with a Twist. I hope to inspire people to unlock their creativity in a fun, judgment-free environment. In my own practice, I create expressive acrylic and oil paintings that explore the complexity of human emotion. In my free time, I enjoy completing jigsaw puzzles, attending local music shows, and hanging out with my cat Princess Buttercup.

Sarita is a multimedia artist, meditation DJ, neuroscientist and mental health professional who believes in the healing and soothing powers of making art and having fun. When not painting or treating patients, she enjoys Taoist martial arts, playing music on her harp and spending quality time watching Yo Gabba Gabba or Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood with her shih-tzu Marty.

Hi, I’m Stefanie - a pre-k teacher and artist who loves working with acrylics and watercolors. I find painting to be a very therapeutic practice, and I’m excited to have that experience with you! I’ll try to keep the singing of directions to a minimum.
