Eliza

My PWAT family calls me Eliza! I am passionate about art, design and all creative pursuits. I paint, draw, illustrate, and love music. I was born in a very small town, which inspired my love of nature. In my free time I hike, ski, swim, camp and anything that puts me in the middle of the woods. I moved to Buffalo 5 years ago to pursue a B.F.A. in Communication Design and I graduated from Buffalo State College in May, 2015. Upon obtaining my degree, I’ve been able to work with numerous clients as a freelancer to design logos, business cards, websites and more. I am excited to join the Painting with a Twist family for many reasons including working in a hands on environment as opposed to a digital one. Most importantly I am excited to share my love of painting and introduce people to new a creative outlet they can use to express themselves and create beautiful works of art!

We live in a world where saying no is easy. It takes the most courageous of people to forge forward and try new things; to say yes. Since I was very young it has been pointed out to me often, but I'm an oddball. Currently studying Fine Arts and Music education at Buffalo State, I continue to try to encourage others to be themselves, even if it means being on. Much of my inspiration for painting comes from everyday life. Our lives and our personalities make us different, so let's put that into our art! Nothing will ever compare to that freedom.

I joined the PWAT family near the end of 2024, but have around 5 years of teaching painting classes under my belt.I grew up watching Pappyland and following along to his drawings. I kept being as creative as possible throughout childhood, school, life, and eventually received my Bachelors in Visual Art from SUNY Fredonia. As a kid, and an only child, I was always drawing, creating, reading, and using my imagination to keep myself entertained. I constantly said “I wanna be an artist when I grow up.” Although that might not look the same way I thought back then, I think I’ve accomplished that goal. My objective with every class is to just make sure everyone has a great time! The paintings will all look a little different, but a fun few hours to create and escape reality is something we can all appreciate and fondly remember! I’m having fun painting with all of you!!

I'm so excited to explore creativity with you here at the Twist. I've been making art nearly my whole life, starting in my early years with my Dad as my artistic muse. He showed me how to paint with watercolors when I was a little girl and I've been hooked ever since. Come spend a couple hours with me and I bet you'll see the joy in art too!

I've called myself an artist since I was a little kid, and I truly believe in the joy and heading that comes from creating something with your own hands. Whether I'm painting, writing, making music, or tending to plants in the greenhouse, I see art in everything. For me, our classes are about laughter, connection and a little bit of magic. I bring plenty of puns, a goofy disposition and a full heart to every class, hoping to make everyone feel right at home - with a brush in hand and a smile on their face.

I have been making art for as long as I can remember. It all started with my grandma, a painter who would try to teach me how to draw and paint when I was very little. Her art was amazing and I always tried to match her ability. There was even a short period of time I started using only my left hand because I thought that was the secret to her skill. Those moments with her are what sparked my initial love for art. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the look of accomplishment on someone’s face when they create something beautiful. I genuinely believe that art is for everyone and that everyone has the potential to create soul-nourishing art. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to help you discover the artist within and to have a lot of fun along the way

I am a born and raised Buffalonian! I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Tom Savini special effects program and this incredible program helped me develop as an artist with an array of skills. I have been a special effects artist, painter, sculptor and much more. I love all things art and I love people I can be silly with so come Twist with me and enjoy a great night out with me and the things I love.

Ever since I could remember I was always drawing. It was my way to make sense of things and to express myself. I knew I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, or maybe even an art teacher! Daily life kept me in a non artist job. My art was done on my off time where I enjoyed painting, drawing, sculpting and freelance book illustration. Finally, I got to to study art and became a graphic designer. This was my job for many years until a career change had me working with children as a pre school teacher. Painting with a Twist lets me combine my loves of art and working with kids.It is a pleasure to be an art teacher and teach painting!

Tia has loved all things creative since before she can remember .As a self proclaimed crazy pet lady, she also shares her home with many a furry friend (at the moment a flock of amazing kitties, a needy shepherd, and a small but mighty parrot) and though she loved oil painting she needed to find a safer alternative. Acrylic paints, water-based oils and digital art have allowed to her to continue to work in the company of her fur family She enjoys instructing classes at Painting with a Twist several times a week, while still growing her own business in visual art and content creation, and she couldn’t be happier.
