Ginger was born and raised in West Texas and came to Austin to attend UT. In 2011, Ginger started painting and studied oil painting with Patricia Lyle, and award winning artist in Round Rock, Texas. Ginger's mother was a painter and her father was an architect and so painting came to her quickly. Ginger has also taught an after school PTA art program at Brushy Creek Elementary now for 3 years. She loves to teach children and adults and thinks Painting with a Twist is a great way to relax, have a blast and learn a little about art. Ginger has 2 children, a middle schooler and a 6th grader and volunteers in her community and for the PTA.
My name is Ashee, I'm a 20 year old art education major at Texas State University-San Marcos. I have two sisters to which I'am very close. For a long time I only worked with charcoal because I have a red-green color deficiency! I've embraced my difficulties with color and taught myself how to paint with acrylics. I'm a huge band geek. I play trumpet. I was a proud member of the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band for two seasons. My favorite artist and inspiration is Vincent van Gogh. His paintings and his philosophies have always been very beautiful to me. :)
I have always made art. I started out drawing Mickey Mouse, then used my dolls for models, and later drew from still life setups and nude models (in college, not next to my dolls!). I have a BFA in studio art from UT-Austin and an M.Ed from Concordia University Texas. I believe that everyone has some innate desire to create, and Painting with a Twist makes it fun and easy. I love to see what happens when my painters get comfortable and customize their art! I teach with a lot of positive energy and humor. I am a native Austinite, a painter, a ceramicist, and a food enthusiast. I paint abstract watercolors, form functional pottery, and cook/bake/seek/eat adventurous morsels. My husband and I have 2 children- a baby girl and a schnauzer.
I am originally from North Texas but I have claimed Austin as my home for the last 5 years. I have a BFA in Art Education from The University of Texas at Arlington. I have an MA in Art Education from The University of Texas at Austin. I am also a working musician in Austin. I tour around Texas often and around other parts of the US every year. I love cats, tarot cards, and yoga.
My name is Stephanie and I’ve dabbled in all of the arts since I was a child. My father painted and illustrated so from a young age I followed suit. I received a BFA from Southwest Texas State University (when it was Southwest) in Studio Art specializing in photography. I’ve been a full time musician since 2003, touring and writing my own songs under the moniker Little Brave. I adore the process of painting and am always delighted to share it with others. In the evenings I go home to my red heeler Luna and my fat cat Sphynx.
Azly Seagroves was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She attended Austin Community College for a degree in Communication Graphics while also being an Area Manager for the pizza franchise Papa Murphy's. Growing up, she spent much of her time drawing characters from her favorite Animes and playing video games. She has created many original characters for the shows she loves, and works tirelessly to improve her skills with digital media. She is proficient in the Anime art style and caricatures, but loves to paint and color with Prisma colors. Her favorite things to do in her spare time is teach kids how to paint and hang out at home with her puppies; Fritz and Brazil. She loves to read, experiment cooking, and help children reach new potentials with art styles that suit their interests.
I'm a native Austinite, recently graduating from Vista Ridge High School where I've won numerous awards for my art projects. I have loved creating art ever since I was little and also have a passion for photography. I've competed for four years in state rodeos and livestock shows, and graduated in the top 15% of my class. I am currently a leader for the middle school girl’s program at Northpoint Church. I attend Austin Community College and plan to attend Texas State University where I will major in Business with a minor in Art & Design. My experiences on mission trips to Juja, Kenya, travels with my swim team to Austria to participate in the Junior Olympics and exploring around the world have influenced my eye for interesting subjects and unique designs.
I love to make art, travel, and eat good food. I graduated from St. Edwards with an Art Degree in 2012. Since then I have explore exotic lands such as Israel, Germany, Amsterdam, France, Italy ...and San Antonio. I took an internship in Tel Aviv for 6 months in a art studio, learning about Art Therapy and teaching childrens art. I moved back to Austin last year and am so happy to be working at Painting with a Twist! I have always enjoyed being creative whether it’s drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, etc. I love how Painting with a Twist gives me an opportunity to share my passions with people who may be picking up a paintbrush for the first time!
From child actor to painting instructor, Zach’s life has been a fantastical journey along a slightly unconventional road. Zach grew up watching Bob Ross, singing and dancing, and getting lost in his own imagination. After retiring from a successful little league baseball career, it was time for Zach to make a change. He auditioned and was cast on the PBS show Barney & Friends, though he decided not to follow his costars to Hollywood and instead chose to pursue a higher education. Studying theatre throughout his primary schooling, Zach was invited to study at the University of New Mexico, where he earned his B.A. in Philosophy. Zach returned home to Austin, and after a brief stint as a stone-yard forklift operator, he discovered Painting with a Twist. He continues to sing, dance, create, and share his love of life and art with his classes.
