Tyler "The Paint Doctor"
Tyler Dixon is a muralist and surreal dreamscape painter, who has been instructing PWAT classes across the country (TX, NC, and CO) since 2013. After studying Illustration in Philly, he began working in the music industry creating artwork for musicians. After shifting his focus to his personal art, Tyler's work was featured in the 2014 Fort Worth Arts Goggle Festival, and he won first place in the 2015 Pour House Mural Painting Contest in Charleston, SC. In the summer of 2016, Tyler was drawn to the vibrancy of Colorado Springs and he now lives in an old Victorian home downtown with his wife. In addition to being an instructor at PWAT, he also teaches therapeutic painting classes for individuals with autism, and exhibits artwork in galleries throughout Colorado. Cynthia has been a commercial artist for almost 30 years, working mostly as a photographer and painting as her other passion! She wears a lab coat at the studio because we have serious fun here! Cynthia loves to belly dance and play Japanese Taiko drums too.
Meridith Hyland graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in Political Science and minored in Art Studio. As an active member in the Front Range Body Painting Community, she has be painting on people, places, and things since 2002. She Loves working at Painting With A Twist because not only does she like teaching and helping patrons, she really enjoys the fact that canvases stay relatively stationary!
Alyssa, also known as Sunshine, has been painting for over 5 years now. She found her passion for art in a Painting With a Twist class many years ago. Alyssa now has art all over the world. She works with acrylics for the most part but loves to pick up any other arts and crafts she can get her hands on.
Brittney has been drawing, painting, and making messes since childhood. She studied fine art at Columbia College Chicago, worked as a scenic carpenter and painter for the professional theatre world, lived in South Korea, and now resides in Colorado Springs. When she’s not instructing classes at PWAT you can find her at home making even more messes with art, design freelancing, crafts, gardening, and woodworking.
Jessica has been painting since college and creating art in other forms for over 20 years. Outside of the studio, she is a seamstress and costume maker who especially enjoys making cosplay costumes for conventions. Jess brings fun and kindness to each class and has the coolest hair.
