Painting with a Twist FAQ
MAY 15, 2020:
With Governor Reynolds’ recent proclamation that more businesses can reopen in Polk County, we thought we’d share our plans for the Urbandale studio.
While we long for the days of lively classrooms full of happy painters, our highest priority must be the safety and comfort of our guests and staff. So, our reopening will happen slowly, based on current circumstances and in accordance with CDC and IDPH guidelines.
We will continue to offer Twist at Home painting kits with curbside pickup and launch virtual classes. Then, we’ll resume private parties of 10 guests or fewer in the studio. Finally, we’ll resume public events with limited class sizes. Announcements will be made as our offerings expand.
We are working on measuring and marking the studio to comply with social-distancing guidelines. Disposable masks, gloves, and aprons will be provided. Hand sanitizer stations will be created. The studio will be professionally cleaned every Friday, and common surfaces will be cleaned by our staff after every class. Any guests or staff who feel ill will be sent home.
We have missed your smiling faces and can’t wait to paint with you again, and we will get there soon. Thank you for your continued understanding and support! ♥

Can we bring our own alcohol?
Sorry, but no. Wine, beer, champagne, and soft drinks are available for purchase from our in-studio bar. Due to local liquor laws, no outside alcohol is allowed inside. Coffee, tea, and water are complimentary.
Can I come if I have never painted?
Yes! We are beginner-friendly and can accommodate all comfort levels. With step-by-step instruction, we make it easy for everyone. We have a few tips and tricks up our sleeve to make art fun. Even if you "can't even draw a stick figure," you are sure to leave with an amazing painting that you created yourself!
Can we bring children under 16 to nighttime classes?
Only if they are accompanied by adults. Even though you may be okay with your child attending an adult class, other adults may not be. Plus, adults in class are often consuming alcohol and the music may be less-than-kid-friendly. Children ages 5 to 15 are welcome anytime before 5 p.m., in classes labeled *Family Class* or *Kids' Class,* and at private parties. Please, no toddlers or infants.
Can I receive a refund?
Yes, in the form of a non-expiring gift certificate to use at our location at a later date if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start of the class. Sorry, but no monetary refunds are offered.
Can I bring a friend who is not painting?
Please ask first, but in general, no. With limited seating available, we ask that if you are coming to the studio, please purchase a seat.
Can I pay when I get there?
Yes, as long as there is still space in the class. All payments are due at the time of reservation whether they are online, in person, or over the phone. Walk-ins are welcome, but not guaranteed a seat.
