Hello!! Thank you for visiting this bio page and Painting with a Twist! I am a Lancaster native and been an artist my entire life. What a great opportunity it is to share its creative rewards with you!
My formal art education is from York Academy of Arts. I graduated from their Fine Arts program as a painter and haven’t stopped since. You can find my work online at http://behance.net/melissacarroll or http://facebook.com/MelissaCarrollArtDesign. Please look me up when visiting local outdoor art shows and watch for gallery shows locally too.
Whether you’re new to painting or not, my goal is the same – to make an enjoyable, memorable evening or afternoon for you. My classes are lots of fun with a relaxed atmosphere. You’ll want to visit us over and over again. I stake my reputation on it!
Lisa defines herself as a full-time student of the creative arts. She attended York Academy of Arts as a Fine Arts Major, and received her Associates Degree in Mass Media from Central Penn Business School. She soon found work as an illustrator for a printing company. Her career in the printing industry spans twenty five years and in those years she spent much of her time in the Preliminary Pre-Press field. She spent several years as a Desktop Operator which exposed her to Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe PageMaker as well as numerous other desktop applications. She frequently returns to college classes to complete her ever elusive BA. In her spare time she paints in both acrylic and watercolor. You might also find her exploring new classes; she still wants to try glassblowing, blacksmithing and woodworking. She recently completed an eight week course in throwing pottery at the wheel. She has a beautiful daughter Morgan and a Yorkie named Jax!
I enjoy all things creative and crafty, including painting. I love making jewelry using various methods and materials including metal/wire, bead work and weaving. In my free time I enjoy quilting, embroidery, crochet and knitting. I am a wife, mother of 2 boys and also work as a Paraprofessional in a kindergarten class and have over 14 years experience in childcare.
Hello! I’m Amy, and I’m super excited to be a part of the Painting with a Twist family! I was born and raised here in Lancaster County, in a small town you’ve probably never heard of, Mt. Nebo. From the first time I held a crayon (and drew all over my mothers kitchen cabinets) I knew I was meant to be an artist! I fell in love with painting, and would paint anything from weird alien creatures I dreamt up, to flowers I picked along the roadside. Now here we are, many years and four amazingly awesome kids later, I am painting nearly every day out of my home studio and am enjoying life as a busy mom and freelance artist. While I seldomly paint any weird alien creatures in my adult years, I now love to paint landscapes, flowers, portraits, wildlife, and even an occasional abstract piece. You can check out what I’ve been creating at http://facebook.com/amygroff.art. I look forward to meeting you and enjoying many fun and laughter filled painting adventures together!
I am glad to be with the PWAT team here in Lancaster! I grew up in the area and lived in North Carolina and most recently Delaware, before moving back to the area in August. I taught at the Painting with a Twist studio in Lewes, DE for a few years and I am so excited to be back!! In addition to working at the studio, I have held various support staff positions in Elementary schools and I am currently working at Mountville Elementary as an ESL Aide. My most important job though is being a mom to my amazing 8 year-old son Bryson. We live with our dog, Singer, and our cat T2! We love walks on the local trails, parks and exploring the area. I also paint at home in whatever spare time I have. I paint canvas, pallets, driftwood, and seashells! You can view my work on Instagram and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pikolas.art. Come in and paint with me soon!!
