After graduating from Shippensburg University with a BA in Art, Amanda moved from small town Pennsylvania and enjoys hiking, art museums, trying new restaurants, exploring the city and collecting too many house plants. Her work has been described as "surreal and strange, but beautiful."
Hi! I’m Bren- MSU Denver art student by day, color wizard by night. I’m new around here, but don’t worry- I came ready to rock your socks off in our class (even the fuzzy ones). I believe art should be loud, weird, joyful, messy, and pretty magical at the same time- kind of like me :) Let’s make some art that feels like a good song.
Brian is from Chicago. He has been so fortunate to have spent his life in the Arts. Brian is a pianist… started playing as a very little human… and now plays in classic rock bands. He got his Masters Degree in acting and spent the next couple of decades Performing, Directing, Producing and Teaching. He is Scuba Certified, an ordained Minister, ENFP, Proud father of a furry 4 legged little dude, And he paints. He likes painting so much, he bought the studio in 2022.
Calynn is from Colorado and is a student studying to receive her Bachelors in studio art. She paints on vinyl records, cds, and canvases. Calynn loves to ski, hike, make homemade paint, and hang out with her dogs and cat.
A sparkling starlet from Galveston Island Texas has landed in Colorado! Damzelyn Distress is a multi-faceted performer and artist, with skills and talents in painting, sketching, wig styling, sewing, audio mixing, puppetry, prop making, and musical theatre. She absolutely loves the color teal, adores dogs, idolizes Miss Piggy, and has an affinity for plushies, glass animals, and pet rocks. If you’re a fan of glamour, camp, rhinestones, good vibes, or gorgeous Drag divas, you’ll go gaga over Damzelyn Distress!

Brought up in a Japanese/British household in the UK, Emily graduated with a BA in Performing Arts and promptly moved to France and later China, where she spent 9 years parading around, with a mouse as her boss, at Disney. Find her today living a colourful life decked in gaudy patterns, doting over her baby boy and dog, while discovering Colorado one mountain and micro brewery at a time.
Heather is originally from Clearwater, Florida. Graduated with a BA in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Colorado. She is a freelance mural artist, graphic designer, face painter, and bartender extraordinaire. She loves animals, hiking, snowboarding, and anything to do with being outdoors!
Originally from Connecticut, Kayla has made Colorado her home. She is primarily an oil painter but loves exploring new artistic mediums. If she’s not painting, writing, cycling, reading, wildlife watching, woodworking, or eating popcorn; she’s probably asleep.
I’m Kenny! Office savant here at PWAT Lakewood. Outside the studio you can find me painting my face or making strange and unusual art. I have 4 fur babies and my world revolves around them, so no, I have no free time.

Ryan Mandzi attended Colorado State University, where he majored in Journalism and Media Communication and minored in Media Studies. With a focus on social media and public relations, he eventually found his way into marketing. He now works at Painting With a Twist, managing social media and marketing efforts, assisting with office tasks, and supporting the studio’s talented artists. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing video games, watching basketball, and getting lost in fictional shows.

Aside from the arts, I love spending time in nature, exploring the city, and dancing in the kitchen with my pup while trying out new recipes.

Sophie graduated from CSU with her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, and is in graduate school pursuing her M.A in education. She is an avid nature lover which led her to begin painting landscapes and climbing 14ers in high school. In her free time now, she also likes to sing, play guitar, and bother her 4 cats.
