Q: What if I can't even draw stick figures?
A: You're in luck, because none of our 10,000+ copyrighted paintings contain stick figures! Our classes are designed for first-time painters, and our talented and enthusiastic artists will walk you through every step to help you create your own work of art.
Q: How do I make a reservation? How much does it cost?
A: Visit our Lafayette Calendar page and select a painting on a date that works for you, then sign up online. Two-hour painting classes are $35, and three-hour classes are $45. On the 15th of every month, we publish the painting class calendar for the next month. Most open classes are for adults ages 13 and up. We suggest ages 13 - 20 be accompanied by an adult 21 or older. You must be 21 to consume alcohol. We do offer Kid's painting classes.
Q: Where exactly are you located?
A: 107 Energy Parkway, between Kaliste Saloom and Verot School Road, 1 block off of Pinhook Road.
Q: What size is the canvas?
A: 16 x 20 canvas. We also offer 12 x 12 square canvas size
Q: Can I come by myself or do I need a group?
A: Sure, people come by themselves all the time and make new friends.
Q: What kind of food and drinks can we bring?
A: Anything you want! We are a paint and sip studio, and the "twist" is you can bring your favorite bottle of wine or beverage. We've seen it all: fast food, takeout, homemade food, cheese trays, pizza delivery, diet shakes, wine bottles, 40-oz. beer cans in paper bags, and margarita machines! We recommend bite-size finger foods to keep your hands free to paint. We provide wine openers and plastic cups.
Q: When do I arrive for my class?
A: Arrive 15-20 minutes early to get uncorked, smocked & in your seat!! If you desire more time to unwind, visit with friends & breathe before we get twisted, we invite you to arrive up to 30 minutes prior to start time; it’s your Happy Half Hour!
Q: When is your calendar published?
A: On the 1st of every month, our calendar is published for the following month.
Q: What can you do if I don't have enough for a private party but have at least 6 people?
A: You're in luck! We offer a VIP Package for those that have enough guests to get a party started but not enough for a private party. Call us with a specific date and time and guarantee us at least 6 people with a credit card. This process is done at least 2 weeks in advance of your date. You will be able to choose the painting, date, time and the class will be offered to the public. Let us know before the calendar is published (on the 1st of the month) and we will include your choice with the understanding that your friends will sign up for it and hopefully the public will like it too.
Q: Do men paint?
A: Absolutely! They're always surprising their significant other with gift certificates just so they can paint too.
Q: Do you have Couples Classes? Do we leave with the same painting?
A: Yes, we offer couples classes at least once a month. We were voted by "Locals Love Us" as "Best Couples Entertainment" Each person leaves with a different painting that they will proudly hang together to make one painting.
Q:Is your Studio a corporate franchise?
A: No, we are an independently owned and operated local franchise of Painting with a Twist. When you paint with us, you help support Lafayette!
Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: Reservations are preferred so that we can prepare prior to the class. Space is not always available.
Q: Do you have private parties and what is the minimum amount of people and cost?
A: Sure, we love to plan private parties. There is no extra charge and you only need a minimum of 12 people for a daytime party and 15 people for an evening party. Birthdays, anniversaries, Sweet Sixteen, bachelorette party, Bridal Showers, Team building, Tennis teams, Red Hat Sosciety, Hen Parties, Mardi Gras parties.... you name it, we have a party for it! Q: Do you have Kid's Kamp?
A: Absolutely, especially during the school holiday breaks and are marked as "Kid's Kamp" on our Calendar. Family Days/All Ages classes are also marked on calendar and typically held on a weekend.
Q: Are kids allowed to adult evening classes?
A: Most of our adult classes are for ages 18 years and older. Children such as babies and toddlers, may not attend any public class. They are allowed at your private party.
Q: What happens if I don't finish my painting?
A: We offer a free SOS class where you bring your painting back and you will have one on one time with an instructor to tweak, change or finish your painting. Check calendar for SOS classes.
Q: What other specialty classes do you offer?
A: Our most popular customized class is "Paint Your Pet". Send us a picture, we trace it out and we'll show you step by step on how to recreate your furry friend. Did you know "Paint Your Pet" class idea was originated from the Lafayette studio? We also offer "Paint your own Rodrigue Blue Dog" painting and have been granted permission to use the iconic "Tabasco" brand in our paintings.
Q: When do I get to take my painting home?
A: As soon as class is over. We use fast-drying acrylic paint and have hair dryers to help any thick paint areas dry fast.
Q: What is Painting with a Purpose?
A: In an effort to give back to the community, Painting with Twist will contribute a portion of their proceeds to a specific charity. Typically, it is held once a month on a Sunday afternoon. This is a partnership where we work very closely with the organization to promote and give the event its maximum exposure to benefit the non-profit. We have 12 months out the year to give back to the community and we want to make the very best of this progam.
Party Time is located within 1 mile, for any decorating material or party supplies. Other stores located within a 1 mile radius: Cane's Chicken, Pizza Hut, New Orleans Daiquiris, Subway, Urbano's Tex-Mex, What-a-Burger, Hardee's, Firehouse Subs, Taco Bell. McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Panda House and Burger King.
Cute Party Ideas! Use the image of the painting throughout the event planning process. Although all art is subject to copyright protection, we do allow the use of the image for invitations, decorations and cakes. Please ask about the reproduction of the image in any other instance related to your private event. Bakeries have come up with adorable representations of the featured painting for cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
