She completed her thesis work shown in Year of the Pig at Texas State Galleries in May of 2019. Her work is collected, and she is currently taking commissions. Maggie’s oil paintings are representational imagery of the human experience, where she explores feelings of nostalgia, memory, and interactions within her environment. Her work is based from photography, either found in her childhood home or taken herself. She first digitally alters the local colors of the chosen photograph, then translates the photograph into a painting by working in layers and using color as a tool to express her interpretation of the memory depicted.
