AJ Price

AJ Price

Hi, I'm AJ -- jack of all artistic trades and master of FUN! I love seeing you (and your friends and family) at our scheduled painting events at the studio. No matter if you're painting for the first time or the fiftieth time, I always ask you to remember my motto: "It's not messed up; it's just not finished yet!" I have to tell myself that a lot when I paint, and when I do pottery. To check out my paintings and shop print-on-demand versions of them, you can view my website at the link below. Or, to keep track of my pottery and all my artistic endeavors, follow me on Facebook and Instagram @AJPriceDesign

I was born and raised in Houston. I have been creating art for as along as I can remember. It has been my one and only passion since I was a little girl. My ambition and my creativity have always been the qualities I value most in myself. After studying art in high school, I got my Associates Degree at Alvin Community College where I studied film and digital photography. During that time, I was a freelance portrait photographer. After graduating, I transferred to the University of Houston where I am currently majoring in Graphic Design. I have studied most mediums, including acrylic and gouache painting, drawing/charcoal, watercolor, color theory, graphic design and photography. I now work as a freelance artist and creative intern while I finish up my education. I hope to one day open my own Design studio where I will create new artwork everyday to make our city more beautiful and creative, collaborating with local artists and teaching the young artists in my community. Ari!

Ari!

I'm Ari, a student pursuing an MFA, and I'm so happy to share something that brings me so much joy with you. Art has always interested me because it is the one language all humans speak; isn't that so special? I got into art my freshman year of high school when my art teacher sent me home with a block of clay and said make something out of this! I ended up second in the state art competition on my first go around. I was never good in school, but art has always been something that came naturally. I love sculpting and printmaking! Feel free to check out my art page @birdskratch on all social media!

I have had a passion for art since I was a little girl. I found my love for art at a Montessori School in Vicksburg, Mississippi when I was about 7 years old. I loved the way I was able to express myself in color and without words through art. I began, as many do, with pencil drawing. I pulled images from my mind, without using reference photos, to teach myself different ways to capture the light and the dark of my subjects. At 13 years old, guided by my grandmother, I dove into painting starting with acrylics. I learned that I could see shades of colors that others couldn't and even though I did not believe that my work was good enough to be valued or enjoyed by others, I loved it and I did it for me. In 2017, I began donating my artwork to different businesses for them to auction at events. I could not believe how many people showed interest! In 2020, I began selling it on social media and to friends and family who encouraged me to do what I love for a living. I truly love creating and hope that you can feel the emotions I put into my work.

Kat Brown

Hello, my name is Kat Brown and I'm addicted to painting. It is my preferred addition, above cats, cemeteries in the fall, cheese, that sweet smell of a newly built home, and baked goods.

Rebecca Macias

Rebecca Macias

I'm Rebecca Macias, a proud graduate of Memorial High School, class of 2023. My journey into the world of art began with a simple passion for creativity. As I honed my skills, I realized my true calling: to share my love for art by teaching others. Interacting with people and helping them develop their artistic abilities brings me immense joy and fulfillment. I firmly believe in the power of art to inspire, heal, and unite communities.
