Our Houston, TX - The Woodlands Painting with a Twist Artists
I have been instructing at Painting with a Twist for five years now! The time has flown by and I’ve been able to meet and enjoy the company of so many nice people! I was hired right after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. Teaching classes in the evenings at Painting with a Twist has given me the time to work on building my own art resume and gain experience painting murals, logos, and other commissions. I enjoy working with my Apple Pencil creating digital paintings and also getting my hands dirty working on charcoal drawings. You can check out some of my work and a little bit of my life on my Public Instagram Art Page @Rosa.art.life
I have always been creatively inclined with a
love for the arts. Being mostly self taught, I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to turn my passions into more than just a hobby by instructing at Painting With a Twist. This opportunity has allowed me to rapidly grow my skills advancing my newfound love of the acrylic paint medium while simultaneously bringing art to others. The fusion of both hobby and career confirmed my life's direction that art would be my primary pursuit. Sharing the joys of artwork with others is important to me. I want to create fun and colorful pieces that you can connect to or be the instrument who brings your desired ideas to life.
Carl Frank has been a professional artist of one sort or another since the mid 90's. One of his earliest art jobs was drawing portraits and caricatures of guests at Disneyland in his home town of Anaheim, California. Though he enjoys a wide variety of art styles and subjects, Carl has always had a particular interest in fantasy and science fiction art, which led him to become an illustrator and concept artist on games products such as Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and other similar products, including some video games.
Carl is always looking for the next place where his artistic superpowers can save the day, whether the client is a huge corporation with an internationally-famous franchise, or an individual with a desire for a private commission....
So if you have an artistic problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire Carl Frank. (Bonus points if you get that reference!)

Michelle Tran is a Houston based artist who specializes in watercolor illustration. Her passion in art stemmed from a young age, and since then she has only grown to love it more. She started as a self taught artist during middle school until she went to the University of Houston to study as a Painting major where she really found her calling as a watercolor artist.
Michelle enjoys creating narrative worlds within her paintings that often explore the human psyche. Her inspirations include the language of flowers, Alphonse Mucha, and Junji Ito among others. Ultimately, she wants to create art that traps viewers into her world with a strong sense of detail. She often focuses on the relationship between humans and nature, melding them together to create fantastical narratives that when examined at a deeper level reveal glimpses into her own psyche.
Gabby is an artist with experience in digital and traditional illustration. Inspired by Lord of the Rings and the animated works of Disney and Studio Ghibli since she was a child, Gabby specializes in character design and illustration work that is mostly based on fantasy and sci-fi. Although self-taught for almost ten years, Gabby has recently begun formal education in fine art at the University of Houston. When she is not busy with school projects or commission work, Gabby is caring for her birds and cats or making her next cosplay. My name is Taya Swensen. I specialize in ultra realistic portraits of loved ones and pets in watercolors and prismacolor pencils. When I’m not recreating a portrait I love to paint giant abstract acrylic canvases. I own Grimm Couture, a custom art commissioned based business. I spend all day everyday covered in pencil shavings and paint splatters and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
