Candy

Candy

Candy, a retired roller girl and lifetime sugar addict, enjoys combing estate sales and antique shops. She is often in search of raggedy quilts or old furniture she pretends she will one day refinish. She moved her family to Corpus Christi from Missouri in January of 2000 to be near the ocean. She cheers for the Kansas City Chiefs, wanders for hours on the beach, drinks entirely too much sweet tea and is on the never-ending hunt for the perfect cupcake. Candy loved art long before adding her brand of graffiti to the box cars parked outside her high school. Her current favorite medium is watercolor, although she enjoys creativity in all forms. She draws, sews, bakes, builds pallet furniture and eats sprinkles straight from the jar. Her style has been described as whimsical and eclectic. From her canvases down to her polka dot knee socks she says, "Life is too short to wear boring clothes or skip dessert." When she's not making up silly song and dance routines about that night's dinner menu, she can usually be found blowing bubbles in her back yard with a lap full of Yorkies.
Lesilie

Lesilie

Born and raised in Kansas, this sweet, sassy Midwestern girl comes from a long line of artists. Lesilie is married to her life long friend and blessed with 2 spunky kids. She thought life couldn't get much better until, seeking adventure, they uprooted their little family and recently moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. While idly searching for something to do with her free time. Lesilie stumbled upon an ad for an artist position with Painting with a Twist. Her love of people, fun, and art combined in one perfect package made it seem if this job was sent from Heaven, just for her!
Megan

Megan

Megan is a natural born artist with a big personality! She discovered her talent at the young age of 8 when she won her first art show. As the years continued, her talent continued to shine. Art became the drive to her heart & she knew it was going to be a career path one day. Megan received her Associates in Studio Art from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Shortly after, she began her first art job as an Instructor for a local studio. "Working for that studio made me realize that not only did I love creating art but I loved helping others create a piece of work that they didn't think they could"! Her love for art has lead her to become the amazing instructor she is today. Her bubbly personality and outgoing soul lights up any studio! Megan can't wait to continue sharing her passion with others all around!
Amanda

Amanda

My name is Amanda and I’m from the small valley town of Los Fresnos. I’ve always had a strong passion for art and I will soon be graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Arts at TAMUCC! Aside from my love for painting, I am also a tattoo artist at The Fellowship Tattoo Parlor here in Corpus. I look forward to teaching a class with you all and helping you realize your inner Bob Ross!

Celeste

Celeste

There are very few things that I enjoy more than painting and drawing. I was an art major at UT Austin, where I spent countless nights in the studio making messes (and maybe a little art, as well). Currently back in my hometown of Corpus Christi, I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, going to art walks and local farmer’s markets, and creating things. Painting is an incredible mode of creativity; not only can we express ourselves through the creation of an image, but here at Painting With a Twist, we have lots of fun doing it!
Corynne

Corynne

Hi there! My name is Corynne & i was born and raised in Corpus Christi! I love our city! I am a collector/hoarder of things I love, whether they be manga, make-up or art supplies -- that I swear I am going to use. I like to spend my days bingeing TV shows while my puppies’ sit on my lap, I usually try and balance a sketchbook on top of one of them; they make good lap desks… sometimes. I have always loved art and have even received my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a teaching certification from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. I love making art, but more importantly, I love teaching people to make art! I have always believed making art should be fun, which is why I think Painting with a Twist is such a great fit. Come paint with me!!

Kailey

Kailey

Another Midwest Transplant to Corpus Christi, Kailey has been a resident here since 2011. She is never without one of her faithful companions: her fiance, the Marine Veteran and her best friend; her son, the teller of tall tales and a source of endless silliness; Or her rescue fur baby Rosco, the large dog who acts like a cat. Growing up in a historically artistic home she was exposed to many different mediums. From her mother's large loom for fabric arts, to her father's blacksmith work, it only made sense as an adult she would find her own niche. As the first painter of the family, she loves to teach others how to tap into and find their hidden artistic ability. Just as she found hers. She can help you, too!
Mama Kim

Mama Kim

Air Force Nurse, Dog Rescuer, Artist, Free-lance Writer, Travel Consultant...all of these describe Kim, as well as Wife, Mother, Daughter and Seeker of Junk. She spends her time juggling mostly! She can be found at the Flea Market digging thru junk looking for a treasure, at the shelter picking up a foster dog, or on Vacation somewhere beachy. Originally hailing from Louisiana, she has spent her life in search of Sun, Fun, and great food! Married to the love of her life who puts up with all of her quirky behavior (and sneaky spending on "junk" to clutter up his garage), she is just about the luckiest gal in the world! Her famous peach cobbler is legendary, and she cooks it (and shakes up a Martini or two) for her friends whenever she gets a chance! Her favorite quote? "Be the brightest crayon in the box".
Malerie

Malerie

Malerie is a student at TAMU-CC and has been painting since before she could talk. Luckily, her little brother was too young to remember her painting his face with finger paints. She is involved in several organizations on campus, and in her free time (aka procrastinating from studying), she likes to bicycle and walk her roommate’s dog. Malerie currently uses her artistic talents in her marketing positions and can be found on fliers and even sidewalks at school. In addition to painting, her hobbies includes lettering, graphic design, and photography. She is excited to be a part of the PWAT team and share her love of art with others.
Mary

Mary

I was raised in the Hill Country and I grew up watching and helping my Mom and Grandma paint! My Dad got me into the outdoors with archery and fishing as soon as I was walking. I enjoy being outdoors whether on water or land. I followed my arrow to Corpus Christi for college and fell in love with the beach! I love having craft days where I’ll work on one of my various projects often including: painting, scrapbooking, or sewing. I’m looking forward to these days with you at Painting with a Twist!!
Sam

Sam

I have grown up in South Texas most of my life. I was in my High School's art club and film club. Leading me to study art at Del Mar. I primarily studied 3D art. Sculpting is my all time passion! I have also been trained in molding and casting. I love Halloween everything! I definitely buy my home decor only during the Halloween season. Pumpkin flavor anything! My love for horror films led me to study Special Fx Make Up! I have worked on film sets, haunted attractions and photo shoots. I love crafting. I dabble in resin jewelry and accessories, stained glass, airbrush and the occasional cross stitch projects. I am extremely excited to work with PWAT and help people break free for their day and have a safe place to express their artistry. I look forward to talking about horror movies, creepy trees and black cats in the moon light with yall! Creep it real!
Tara

Tara

Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, with her head firmly planted in the clouds, Tara has been in love with the creative process in all its various forms for as long as she can remember. At various points in her life, she's been an archaeologist, an opera singer, a park ranger, a photographer, a freelance editor, and a geek culture journalist. She began constructing the multiverse in which her short stories and soon-to-be-released debut novel are set when she was 12 and began dabbling in painting and other forms of visual art when she was 15. Currently, she spends much of her time as a staff reviewer of speculative fiction for various magazines and also reviews dark fantasy and horror independently on her blog. Armed with an MFA in Creative Writing and a BAS in Archaeology, her first book is due to release later this year. A lover of the eclectic and the arcane, Tara is a bit of the wall, much like her writing and her artwork. She firmly believes that one of life's great joys is helping others improve upon or learn a new skill, especially when it comes to writing and painting. She looks forward to sharing her love of art, literature, useless facts, weird history, fantasy, and horror with you!
Taylor

Taylor

Hi, my name is Taylor! I have been an artist for as long as I could hold a paintbrush. Art is one of my biggest passions right along with children. I am currently attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi and I am pursing my lifelong dream of becoming an elementary education teacher. Working at Painting With A Twist gives me the ability to combine both art and teaching into one amazing job! Elephants are my spirit animal and sushi gives me life. I am all about positive vibes and spreading happiness wherever I go. Helping others is also a passion of mine and I believe that anyone can be an artist as long as you have the right mindset! “The purpose of art is washing the dust of our daily lives off our souls.” -Pablo Picasso
