I was born and raised in Houston. I have been creating art for as along as I can remember. It has been my one and only passion since I was a little girl. My ambition and my creativity have always been the qualities I value most in myself. After studying art in high school, I got my Associates Degree at Alvin Community College where I studied film and digital photography. During that time, I was a freelance portrait photographer. After graduating, I transferred to the University of Houston where I am currently majoring in Graphic Design. I have studied most mediums, including acrylic and gouache painting, drawing/charcoal, watercolor, color theory, graphic design and photography. I now work as a freelance artist and creative intern while I finish up my education. I hope to one day open my own Design studio where I will create new artwork everyday to make our city more beautiful and creative, collaborating with local artists and teaching the young artists in my community. Greetings, one and all! Some know me as Arizona Amy as I was born and raised in the Sonoran Desert of Southern Arizona, although I have since lived in many places now proudly calling Texas home. I am a devout Christian and was in the US Navy for 6years as a Language Analyst(I am now a Disabled Veteran). I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, a focus in language, and then a dual Master's in Practical Theology and Business Administration. I am also Basic Paralegal Certified, happily married, and a dog mom. I rescue and rehabilitate dogs, have a service dog myself, and love everything dog-related. I love to paint pets! Art, culture, languages, dogs, animals, people, swimming, snorkeling, and sailing have many passions, but art has been woven throughout my life's entire tapestry. I even painted our division flag in Boot Camp- what fun! Painting, in particular, and its therapeutic qualities in helping others have been topics I have poured myself into more and more with each passing year, and I am still learning more every day. I love to paint socially and share the joy I get from sitting down, paintbrush in hand, and painting my stress away. I can’t wait to paint with you at Painting With a Twist! Meet Elizabeth! Elizabeth is a Pearland-based artisan who has spent decades perfecting her craft. Her work has been displayed at numerous church, school, and Chamber of Commerce (Cleveland, TX) functions. She is the owner of American Artisan - EAR and creates custom art, earrings, and engraved work, as well as interior design and DIY projects. She is a coach's wife and mother of 4 great kids. Art has always been a part of Keyasha’s life. In December 2021, while living in Houston, she started learning how to paint while working at Painting with A Twist. While working with acrylics, she fell in love with painting. Her customers couldn’t believe she had only been painting for just a short amount of time. This gave her the ambition to continue to work with acrylics and do some of her own art. While only working with acrylics she is very determined to work with other mediums as her art career soars. She believes that if you put your mind to your creativity, you can do anything, and she does it through her art.
