Our Pittsburgh, PA - South Side Painting with a Twist Artists

Alexander

Alexander

Hi, I'm Alex. I love art in all of its forms. After graduating with degrees in graphic design and sculpture, I decided to move to Pittsburgh. I really love sharing art with others, and Painting with a Twist allows me to do that. When I'm not working on a logo or creating illustrations, I really love to cook and practice my oil clay sculpting. For a view of my previous work, visit the link and peruse through some of my projects. Come see me at Twist South Side, and I'll see if you have what it takes.

Hi, I’m Ashley! I was born in Pittsburgh and raised with a paintbrush in my hands. I’m a recent graduate of CCAC and am looking forward to the next step in my academic career. I have always enjoyed the arts and creating something out of nothing. Whether it be paint, clay, or even my tablet, I’m busy making something new! I’m glad to be here at Twist South Side, and I can’t wait for you to come in and enjoy the experience as well!

Jenny

Jenny

Hi guys! My name is Jenny, and I'm from the block. Actually, I'm from the City of Brotherly Love, but don't hold that against me! I'm an experienced painter who's been studying art in various forms for over ten years. Although I have a degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and primarily work in video production, painting has always been one of my lifelong hobbies. I began to turn my passion into a profession with commissioned paintings and illustration, and a few years later I joined the Painting with a Twist family! Having the opportunity to pass the knowledge my art teachers gave me onto others is an incredibly fulfilling experience, and with my musical theater and performance background, I'm committed to keeping your learning experience fun! When I'm not producing or painting, you can find me riding my horse, attending Comic Cons, enjoying craft ales, rocking out at metal concerts, or working on my current comic, Gibson And The Apocalypse, which can be read on horsenation.com or my art instagram account, @jennykammart. I'm looking forward to seeing you at Twist South Side soon!

Art is the act of pure inspiration! That's my motto. And just like in Ratatouille, "Everyone can cook," I believe that everyone can paint! The best part of my job is being able to help people see that they have talent they didn't know they had. I’m Pittsburgh born and raised, and I love my city (and the Steelers and Penguins of course). I have my BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University with my concentration in drawing and a minor in art history. I also do commissions, and I'm experienced in all types of media including oil paint, watercolor, ink, charcoal, and graphite. I've been an art instructor for many years before I came to Twist South Side, so I've taught people with different levels of experience. If you're a novice, don't be scared to paint! I guarantee you'll end up with something you can be proud of after taking my class. If you take a class with me just be ready for my corny personality and nerdy jokes!

Meg

Meg

Hey, I’m Meg! I was born in California, but I have lived here in the ‘Burgh for most of my life. I’m a graduate of Point Park University with a BFA in Animation & Visual Effects, and I had an internship with Animal Media Group, a local media studio downtown. Additionally, I work with kids, as I also employed at our very own Carnegie Science Center! I’ve always had a strong passion for storytelling and the arts. My love extends from animation, to digital art, to drawing, and, of course, to painting. When I’m not creating, writing, or working on my own side projects, you can find me enjoying various video games, movies, cartoons, and TV shows. So, come on down to Twist South Side for one of my classes to paint with me!

Noor

Noor

Hi! My name is Noor, but you can also call me Noot. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, making art my entire life, from elementary school to college, the whole shebang! Now, I intend to pursue it as a long-term career. I work with all different kinds of traditional mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen and ink, with the addition of henna tattoo and my newly found love of digital media. You name it, I’ll make it. When I’m not at Twist South Side, I continue with my arty party as much as I can with commissions and any personal projects. I love working at Twist South Side, where there’s never a dull moment, because it gives me the chance to paint with all of you. With that being said, see you soon!

I was born in Pittsburgh and graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. From a young age, I showed an interest in drawing, especially with Sharpies on my parents' walls and pianos. Once in high school, I was introduced to an art studio in the North Hills where I was able to expand my painting skills, particularly in watercolors. After a year of going to the studio, I was asked to start teaching art to 5 - 10 year olds. I stayed there for five years, including summers, while I was going to school in Savannah, GA. After graduation, I managed a print shop for a year and a half, followed by accepting the lead designer position at a medical supply company. I am very excited to get back to teaching at Twist South Side!
